Had to be within 6" of wire behind wall, for it to signal.

Garbage, does not track over 10 feet
Got one to track a perimeter wire for a robot mower. Does not detect anything over few feet of distance. Total garbage.

Cheap Tone Generator
I have not used this yet, it is a cheap tone generator, but I just had a need for one, every 5 or 10 years, so it's nice to have in my tool bag.
