I got this for Xmas for my 11 year old who said he wants to be a doctor when he grows up. When he opened it, he was so excited, he was like, "I didn't even know I wanted this! I can't wait to use it!" He proceeded to forget about all his other presents for a moment to look inside the box. Inside, there is enough "skin" to practice suturing and messing around with the tools. The scalpel is not super sharp which is great because you can't cut yourself, but it cuts into the fake skin easily. For what I paid for this, I am really impressed with the quality, all the tools are well made and seem very realistic. I know that my kid will get a lot of use out of it, and I can imagine it would be great for an actual med student as well. The whole set is a lot of fun and he's already proud of the suturing he's done.

Perfect all in one kit. Worth every penny

This is a great practice kit for learning basic suturing skills. The materials feel realistic and the silicone pad is durable and easy to work with. The kit includes several useful tools and different practice areas, which makes it perfect for beginners or students. Everything came well organized and the quality is good for the price. I highly recommend it for anyone practicing medical or surgical techniques.

With the disclaimer that I haven't sutured any real flesh (yet), this feels much more realistic than other suture pads I've tried. It does not smell bad and isn't too sticky. The needle passes through the material easily enough and it can be cut well with a scalpel (the others I've tried were too hard to cut easily with a scalpel). All in all, the pads are excellent. The arch gives the custom incisions realistic tension. The only downside (and the reason for the 4 stars) is that the needle drivers are very hard to unclick. However, they are well designed and the suture thread doesn't catch in the joints. Would give 4.5 stars if I could. From a beginner, this seems to be a great suture practice pad and I'd strongly recommend getting at least the blank replacement pad, if not the full kit.

Purchased this for my daughter as a gift. (8 year old) Great value. Quality was better then expected. Easy to use. Kept her busy for hours. Helps with hand eye coordination. (Requires precise movements and visual feedback) I would not recommend for all 8 year olds. Adult supervision required.
