It’s an art!
At first I couldn’t get the images to lift…then after reading several blogs and watching lots of video tutorials I got it! If at first you don’t succeed: keep at it; it’s an art!Lovely designs, lots of choices, very good value. The jelly stampers are great too (they’re the ones I use all the time now). Very happy. Highly recommend!!

Solved the problem.!! FAB fun now.
When this kit arrived, I immediately tried it out (as I’d seen on YouTube). I removed the protective blue film from one of the very pretty stamping plates, applied nail varnish (in this instance: OPI brand), scraped-off the excess and pressed the jelly stamp down on to the design….The jelly stamps picked up ABSOLUTELY NOTHING at this point.!! I was so disappointed and annoyed at myself for not paying more attention to the negative reviews on here, many of which described this exact same issue….I was stumped as to what to do next: the jelly pads didn’t work AT ALL… but I loved the plate designs and decided to keep looking for answers…I then tried Barry M (opaque colours) which is often thicker and a TEENY bit of a design transferred to the jelly pad…(not enough to actually use but it was at least doing something more than nothing)….I went back to YouTube and discovered this:Sometimes these jelly pads work fine from the packet but often, they require a bit of priming first….They need to feel really tacky in order to pick up the design from the metal plate surface. Here’s what I found out and what I did (I’m only telling you because it solved my problem but please try this at your own risk..I’m not to blame please if it still doesn’t work for you)::: The jelly pads are extremely fragile…handle them like edible jelly.!! They can split very easily with hardly any force.1) VERY gently wash the jelly pad in warm water with a dash of washing up liquid for a few seconds.2) Pat dry VERY gently on a paper towel or clean cloth.3) Replace in to the plastic holder and SUPER GENTLY create a dulled surface using the finest side of a nail buffing board. (One of those thick ones with the smoother buffing surfaces compared to traditional Emery boards which tend to have courser gritted surfaces…they’re too rough for this application.!! It needs to be a really fine grade surface which doesn’t feel very textured at all). If you don’t have a fine buffing board available, try raiding the DIY tool box for some fine wet/dry sandpaper.4) Dab with pure acetone (yes, I know…they say never use acetone on these but we’re doing it just this once)!!5) Allow to air dry and the jelly pad should now look matt and feel tacky.6) Brush -on some nail varnish in a thick, even layer on a plate design, quickly scrape off excess using the scraper included and quickly roll the jelly pad across the surface and then roll the transferred image over your chosen nail as swiftly and confidently as possible, exerting even, steady pressure.If/when the jelly pad fails to pick up the designs again in future, apply some nail varnish remover to the surface and leave to dry again. (Not pure acetone this time)! If this process fails to restore adequate tackiness to the jelly pad, then try repeating the whole priming process again (washing in warm soapy water etc).GOOD LUCK! I hope it solves your jelly pad problem too.I might try and add photos in due course but right now, I’m too busy having fun experimenting with the different plates. Some people state that special nail stamping polish needs to be used but I’ve found opaque Barry M varnishes to be fine. I might try a few stamping varnishes in future and report back if they’re even better/easier to stamp with. The (new) OPI polishes I tried using aren’t opaque or thick enough (yet)! The older a varnish gets, the thicker it gets and probably better for stamping it becomes!! My Barry M varnishes seem thicker even when new so have worked well for me.

Not easy to use.
Doesn’t work well for some polishes so a lot of trial and error needed. Difficult to clean if polish dries or cures on stencil. For beginners i recommend practicing in designs that you may not use often.
