Handles All Cleaning Jobs to Perfection Minus all Commercial Toxins
NON TOXIC VERSATILE CLEANER! > TOUGH STAINS: Anything ranging from dirty oven racks, carbonized stains on metal and glass kettles to dishes, plastic items, moldy things can be scrubbed easily by simply making a paste and coating the items with it. Easy scrubbing after that. Even applying baking soda directly and start scrubbing right away works. In case of oven racks with carbonized stains, sink them in bathtub with baking soda and vinegar for 24-48 hours. Add a paste on the racks again before scrubbing and scrub the dirt with a metallic sponge. Restores them to new state. Also cleans oven's interior tough stains very nicely in combination with a scratch safe metallic scrapers. Presoak the interior or spray the tough stains with baking soda, pure vinegar. Let it sit. Restores the interior to a new state. > BATHTUB AND SINKS: Restores shine and pure whiteness to sinks and bathtubs. > ORAL HYGIENE: Mix with salt and use as a mouthwash, vigorously swashing it before brushing and after flossing. Destroys all bad bacteria and prevents bad breath. Conditions and disinfects the mouth. Prevents and treats canker sores. Makes great facial masks by itself or in combination with other ingredients. Opens all skin pores. Serves as a great substitute for soap and body wash and encourages exfoliation. > LAUNDRY: All around safe and effective detergent by itself. In spite of recommendations that says mix it with other ingredients like vinegar or All Green formulas, it is super effective on its own. Leaves clothing with no artificial odor or toxins. They all come clean, shiny and white and best of all odor neutral. Presoaking clothing with super tough stains before washing improves the cleaning power for that much more. > HEALTH: Saves the household from nasty chemical ingredients in commercial detergents and carcinogenic sinus irritating aromas. Environmentally fabulous, specially when mixed with an acid like vinegar. > ECONOMICAL: Incredibly cheap for what it does. Generous amount for the asking price in a bag. I order several and store everything in easily accessible containers. > LENGTHEN THE LIFESPAN OF DISPOSABLE PRODUCTS: Restores dirty sponge scrubbers to fresh clean state. Destroys and removes all oil and odor effectively. Any product that does that deserves to be thanked for the service it does to the environment, reducing disposable waste. > DISINFECTANT: Destroys mold, kills many microbes by itself, doubly so when combined with vinegar. NOTES ABOUT SOME CLEANING TASKS > If you use them to clean counters, oven, inside microwave or glass windows, etc upon drying you will notice a dry residue of baking soda. You have to be prepared to simply wipe that away again or for those purposes, use a vinegar alone or vinegar + other green solutions. > The product may clump some out of the bag. Not a big deal and when it happens it is only in small amounts. You can crush them with hand easily specially if you are going to keep them in a bucket. I also put them in repurposed spice jars to use in the kitchen sinks. I make sure everything is in powder form before filling the jars. > They are not suitable for baking due to grain size, although it is foodgrade.

Can't ever go wrong!
Never use any bargain brand (do they even make any?). Bought this to clean old stains from carpet (sticky, dark possibly some kind of greasy substance or possibly some liquid that had sugar in it). As expected it took elbow work (alot! there were alot of old stains), but did a better job than any store bought stain removers. After vacuuming carpet try and raise the nap in carpet as it's probably squished down due to the stickyness. Sprinkle a good amount of the baking soda covering the stain; try to get as close to the carpet as possible so that the baking soda falls directly on the stain otherwise it will kind of float away. Leave the baking soda on the stain for atleast 15 minutes but the longer the better. Some say you can just vacuum the baking soda up after leaving it on for awhile and that the oil/grease will have been absorbed into the baking soda. That didn't work for me so I went further and made a solution of 1Tbs white vinegar in 16-18 oz of warm or hot water and two or three s-m-a-l-l drops of dawn dish soap ( you don't want it to be foamy or you'll be working the soapy residue out of your carpet for awhile). Using a sprayer bottle spray this solution wherever the baking soda is. Don't set sprayer like a jet stream, use the mist but be sure to get the baking soda wet (a fine mist won't do it), you should see or hear fizzing as the vinegar and baking soda chemically react. Let it dry completely then using a vacuum with really good suction (a shop vac is best) vacuum it all up. If the stain is still there or it still feels sticky you may have to do it again but keep at it until the stain is removed. Please note: if your not really careful when applying the baking soda and you don't use a good vacuum with good filters you could end up with a dusting of baking soda everywhere. I learned the hard way. Either way be sure to vacuum the entire carpeted area to suck up any wayward baking soda especially if you plan on following up by using a carpet cleaning machine.;-D Thanks Arm & Hammer!!

Always Reliable
I use this during & after cleaning the cat's litter box. Keeps the litter smell-free. I also spread it on the area rugs just before vacuuming. In the drains - I put some in the drain, then pour white vinegar - sizzling and then clean smell. Also use to clean stainless sinks & appliances. So many uses - can't lie without it. The price has increased significantly for the 5# bag.

None better!
Cleans anything! With expensive, large Sunbrella canvas custom sized awnings, mfg. recommends cleaning with Clorox and water.? Back of house faces North and with 3 months of use, a deposit of natural green algae! Entire su face Stained green embedded into fabric. With A&H powde germ flare Ayer off wet canvas surface! Then hosed! Stupidly tried the recommended proces scrubbing and soaking in driveway for hours. Fabric became thinner from these attempts. Occurred to me to try Arm and Hammer. Do sprinkled a full 5 lb bag onto wet canvas backed by driveway . Let it sit for a few hours, hose and long brush. Basically the green floated off!

Great value.
I purchased this 5lb size bag of baking soda for a great price from Amazon. While I do use Arm & Hammer baking soda in actual baking, I wanted a large affordable bulk size bag of this stuff to use in my small swimming pool to increase the alkalinity and raise the pH. It took a bit of experimenting, but it definitely worked well, and now I have a perfectly balanced pool for summer, at a fraction of what it would have cost me to purchase a pool water alkalinizer. To use this method yourself, test your pool water, then walk around the perimeter of your pool sprinkling a conservative amount (for a small pool or kiddie pool) or generous amount (for a large pool) of baking soda into the water as you go. I found it dissolved quickly and easily. Test your pool again a few hours later, and again the next day. Add more baking soda as needed. This method isn't fool-proof... there are calculations you can find online that will tell you how much to use based on your pool volume in gallons. I didn't bother with the math, but instead used trial and error. For my small 10' round above ground pool with very low pH and low alkalinity (almost to the bottom end of each scale on my pool water testing strips), I used approximately 3.5 lbs of this 5lb bag to get my neglected pool under control. Now that it's balanced, I haven't had to add more in weeks.

You Need This
There are so many ways to use baking soda. Everyone knows a few of them. My two favorites are as stone/porcelain cleaner and as cat urine remover. To clean stone or porcelain, make a runny paste of baking soda and water, spread it on the stain and then sprinkle citric acid on it. It will bubble. A LOT. Let it work and then scrub when it subsides. This is for bathtubs and counters and whatnot - not for your Le Creuset. For cat urine: in a spray bottle, mix 8 ounces of 3% H202 with two tablespoons of baking soda, two or three drops of dishwashing liquid, and several drops of tea tree oil. Spray the carpet or bedding or mattress or whatever until it is thoroughly saturated. I mean really wet. You want this solution to go everywhere the urine went. Let it dry naturally until the baking soda comes to the surface of the (formerly) soiled item. Vacuum thoroughly. You may need to treat more than once, but usually you will not. This saved an oriental rug (expensive), a brand new hybrid mattress (expensive), and many sheets and comforters when my sweet sweet calico cat developed chronic kidney failure. BUT - test for colorfastness first. And if whatever it is loses some color, decide whether you want a bit of fade on it or to throw it away, because nothing else works like this.

Great for cleaning
This is a great deal on this quantity of baking soda. I use this primarily for cleaning purposes so it makes more sense to buy it in larger quantities. This product does exactly what I thought it would and arrived exactly as described. I was a little disappointed in the boxing of the product because it was able to slide around too much during shipping and there was a small hole in the bottom corner of the bag. This caused a very minimal amount of baking soda to spill out and get on other items it was shipped with. I was able to remedy the problem with a small piece of tape. I will still buy again but hopefully better care in the packaging will be done next time.
