This is a lot smaller than I expected. Plastic jar like section has a blue color to it. Has a filter. Can be tricky to take apart. Does not fill from the top.

I love that this is 4 gallons (I have one chocolate lab mix and two tabby cats) and the water lasts all week--no filling a small water bowl or three every day--it's very convenient. It's sturdy, BUT - if you can't lift 4 gallons of water using your 'fly' muscles, don't buy this. There are no 'handles' or 'hand-holds' built into the plastic and you have to hug/heft all of that weight, turn it over and place it into the base without spilling it everywhere, every time. I can do it, but I can also pull a 90-lb compound bow, do pushups and lift my 96-lb dog up into the back of my Jeep and onto the bed at night (now that she's older). I have a feeling as I get older, this is going to get more and more difficult to maneuver.I love the mason jar look. The top is just for looks - you cannot leave this on the base, open the top and fill from the 'mouth' as there is no mouth to the 'jar'--it is a completely molded piece (allowing for the vacuum/function of the gravity waterer) - the only opening is at the 'bottom' where the filter is - so you have to turn it upside down to fill it, screw the filter piece back on and then *flip* 4-gallons of water and hit the opening in the base - good luck! :DIt's easy to clean. I would recommend it to any of my other capable, brawny friends, lol.

Beats filling bowl up multiple times a day

Well I must say - I kinda messed up on this one - totally thought I was buying the waterer but I got the feeder - decided to just keep it - now my only regret is that it is not bigger ! It looks kinda funny sitting beside the 4 gallon matching watering mason jar LOL - Definitely proving to be durable as my Great Pyrenees picks it up and tosses it when it’s empty to get my attention - unfortunately for her, it’s about 2 days worth of food instead of what it would be for one of my chihuahuas- If you have any pets that are food aggressive - would NOT recommend if you’re trying to use this one for multiple pets as it is very limited in space getting to the food - it kind of works like some of those slow feeders to keep the dogs from eating too fast - overall happy with the choice to keep it though !

My kitchen is Farmhouse inspired so when I saw this product I was like you have got to be kidding me! It fits it perfect. It is made out of a petsafe plastic and is durable. The lid does come off to refill for food, and I have had no problems with it replenishing the bowl with food, with that being said I have seen reviews of people using this FEEDER as a waterer as well, this is NOT INTENDED FOR WATER, there is a separate listing for the waterer which I also got. I have 2 cats and they work great and I get complements all the time when people come over! who would have thought over pet feeders!! A+++++ in my book and I will defiantly be getting another set soon !

Great size for a small dog.

I really like this feeder. It fits in with our decor so well and it looks really nice. I like that the lid screws off because it makes refilling so much easier. We ended up putting it on our dogs old bowl holder and it has worked out well. I do have to give it a little shake to get the food to come down and fill the bowl all the way but that's not a big deal for me. The only things I would change is the lip piece that is on the top of the bowl. I don't like that water can get between the two pieces and it makes cleaning a bit harder. It also closes over the top of the bowl a bit and our rescue dog is very insecure when eating and I think he would like it more if the bowl felt more open. Beside those things it's a well made product and the mason jar design makes it look much nicer than other designs.

The food doesn't flow out as easily as intended to. The cat has to shove her face in there to get the food to fall down or we have to shake it for her.

A mi gata le gustó el producto. Puedo colocar una buena cantidad de croquetas y mi mascota puede obtenelas fácilmente de su traste. Lo muevo un poco para bajar la cantidad de alimento si deseo que se llene más el recipiente donde come. Tiene un buen material, es ligero y estable, con el alimento se mantiene firme en el suelo.

No funciona no detiene el agua no se puede llenar pésimo lo voy a devolver

I was disappointed and surprised that it was entirely made out of plastic, including the mason bottle part. I now notice that the description on Amazon states “bpa free”. I guess that is code for plastic. So my mistake. It would be nice if the description indicted that the bottle was plastic too. ( At this point 4 stars for this product because I received a product on time , and I had high hopes for solving my going away weekend problem.)The second problem is the lid. It definitely does not screw on properly like a mason jar lid should. I really battle to get the lid on. It sort of pops on more than screws on. I am feeling a bit irritated because the floor is full of kibble spilling out as I battle the lid. (At this point the product gets a 3 star ratingHowever the REAL ISSUE is that this feeder does not feed. Once the kibble in the bowl is finished the cats cannot get to the kibble in the jar as it does not fall out. The kibble gets stuck in the mouth, every time. (Not just mine, a friend of mine said she had the same problem). I have tried lifting the" heel' so that gravity can assist with the kibble's falling out but it does not work. My poor cats . The first weekend I left them alone with this machine they were STARVING. Imagine this : you can see the food through clear BPA, probably smell it too but not have the ability to scratch or shake it out! Poor kitties All in all poor quality, poor design and a rip-off product. I am sure the Dollar store will sell this product for $2, and still profit from it. The sellers must make a hefty profit piece of recyclable rip-off plastic.The one start is for shipping only. I cannot recommend this product.

Really love the way it looks and holds quite a bit but was a little disappointed with the lid not coming off very difficult to fill but still happy with the purchase and my cats are as well.
