SHORT POUR! *Not* the 12 x 0.35oz = 4.2oz that I expected.
The wax doesn't smell like *any* beeswax that I've ever written pysanky with, but it could just be a weird dye smell, so it is not my most pressing concern.I have a 0.1g scale for weighing small batch wax additives, such as encaustic dyes. This box felt very light, so I weighed it. It was in fact too light.Seller's description:«Set of 12 pure filtered and colored bee's wax cakes. ... Weighs about 0.35 oz.»«Dimensions of the comb are: W=1" x D=087" x H=0.75"»I can surmise 087" = 0.87". No problem.12 x 0.35oz = 4.2ozThe total weight of *these* 12 cakes = 2.965oz.Each cake weighs just at or a touch under 0.25oz.Actual dimensions: W=1" x D=0.87" x H=0.68"Beeswax shrinks 10% when cooled. Even if these had been poured at 0.825" to finish at 0.75", instead of finishing at 0.68" -- that doesn't explain the weight being 29.4% low.Several of these 0.68" high cakes look like air bubbles were whipped into the wax. Air bubbles will offset total wax volume, and thereby decrease the weight of the end product.I expected the total weight of 4.2oz.I received the total weight of 2.965oz.2.965 = 70.6% of 4.2.You owe me 1.235oz. = 5 more cakes if they are all roughly 0.25oz.I cannot recommend a product that is *MISSING* 29.4% of the described weight.Either(A) increase your cake weight to 0.35oz to match your description,OR(B) correct your description, so that CUSTOMERS know they will receive ~3oz total, not 4.2oz total, and can thus compare your price per ounce with other suppliers accordingly.
