Voyage to the Star Kingdom

Love this book
I thought this was a great fictional story that pointed out Biblical truths about going to heaven. And did it in a such a way that it captures the imagination of children. It made heaven a tangible, real place that will be exciting to go to, not just an unknown, unfamiliar place. After several losses in our family and close to our family, this book gave my 5 and 3 year old some language and ideas about how to talk and think about heaven.

A must read! What a blessing!
A touching story on the difficult topic all of us must one day face; the loss of a loved one. Riley weaves a beautiful story that presents storms and troubles in an eternal perspective, and one that is easy to introduce to children. As with any story that starts with God, it ends leaving you feeling uplifted and comforted. I don't have children of my own yet, but I know that when I do "Voyage to the Star Kingdom " will secure a treasured place on my children's book shelves. I have already ordered a few extra copies to give to my nieces and nephews. Also, This book isn't just for children. It blessed me in a big way! I lost my brother a year ago and reading Voyage to the Star Kingdom reminded me that God is not bound by time. We will see each other again in paradise, and we will never be apart ever again.

So good
Can't read it without crying. It passed as a Living Book with my daughter wanted more than a page or two read to her. She figured out all on her own what the story was about. "Ohh! It's about Jesus!"Beautiful, well written and illustrated story to help us all in our grief.

She would ask me questions like, "If I die before you
Since my grandmother passed away this summer, my six year old daughter has had some fear associated with death. She realized that if my mother's mother died then her mother could die too. She was also fearful and began asking questions about her own death. She would ask me questions like, "If I die before you, I'll be all alone. Who will take care of me in heaven?" As much as I would try to explain, it has been difficult for her to understand. We read the book last night and I can honestly say that this book truly spoke to her. It was such a beautiful picture of God's love and care for us during the most difficult of times. I loved the message that we will always have storms in our life, but our God will never leave us. One of the most precious books that I have read to my girls.

Death is NOT the end!!!
I loved this - my husband passed last fall and he idea that the final destination is being together with Jesus is our hope. I love the way this book explains this.Reason for 4 stars: I’m guessing it was a publishing house error, but there was a story about the KC royals at the beginning of this book - I was super confused at first, but still would recommend to friends and other families living with grief.

Excellent gift for someone who has suffered deep loss
Of all the books that people sent us during our time of grief, this was the single most important and cherished book. It helped our children, and it really helped me. It’s a beautiful story to address such a difficult topic. Ironically, sometimes a magical story like this is the only way to reach a person in such deep grief and help them ease back into reality.

It has become our favorite book in our house
We lost our two year-old daughter very suddenly last year to a vaccine injury. We have two other children, and, as expected, it has been a struggle for them to understand it all and understand their sister going ahead without them. I cannot begin to tell you what this book means to us. It has become our favorite book in our house. I want do highly recommend giving this book to anyone that has lost a child, has children who have lost friends or siblings or anyone, really. It paints a beautiful picture of the "bigger picture" of life here on earth and after. God does indeed make all things new!
