Geauga Lake: The Funtime Years 1969-1995 (Images of America) Paperback – Illustrated, June 1, 2015

Mom my worked at Geauga Lake for 6 years, first at Balloon Darts then onto Fascination. It was back in the mid 60's into the early 70's. When the Schryers owned it it was such a family-like atomosphere & everyone knew me & watched out for me! I even remember them having me load the bullets in the cartridges for the rifle range & getting paid 50 cents a can! After Funtime took over she went into the Foods part. It was a nice innocent time & many memories came flooding back from my childhood from reading this book...GOOD MEMORIES!!! I remember going back a few years after she left & still seeing familiar faces...among them Ed who ran the rifle range who was there FOREVER & WONDERFUL "UNCLE" Bob a Deputy Sheriff who worked the park! BIG BUSINESS may have taken away GEAUGA LAKE, but NEVER my wonderful happy innocent childhood memories!

Good coverage and accurate history of Geauga Lake Park through the Funtime years. Some touching on Sea World and the Six Flags era for those wondering. Still brings a tear to my eye that the park is gone, but this is a great way to relive those memories.I'm glad I was able to be part of history.

Excellent history of Geauga Lake, focusing primarily on the years the park was operated by Fun Time. Post cards and photos with captions capture the heart of the park. This book is a must for any Geauga Lake fan or amusement park and roller coaster enthusiast.

I was a Geauga Lake employee for 6 summers from 1980-1985 and wanted a nostalgic look at the park. This gives a great background on the park with facts, figures, photos, and interesting background mainly concentrating on the rides and attractions that were brought into the park over the years. Chapter introductions about the phases of management along with 2 photos per page , usually of the rides and attractions introduced into the park. Nice, but the entire book is black and white and many of the pictures are just not that good. Overall, I was disappointed.
