NARROW, not "wide", as they claim
This shoe was very narrow for being a wide. My feet are wide at the toes, but narrow/ average in the heel and ankle areas. The shoe opening seemed wide and easy to slip my feet into, but my foot was SQUEEZED so tightly as soon as I stepped down that I didn't even bother to tie them up. This "wide" shoe felt much narrower than other shoes I've tried of regular width. Also, I ordered up a half size, and the shoe just fit length wise. The quality of the shoes looked great, but thats useless if you can't find any that fit.

Waterproof didn’t last
I wish I had bought another pair of KEENs but I wanted something a little less bulky and decided to try these. These only kept my feet dry for a couple months before my feet started getting wet. I only gave 2 stars because this was the main feature I was needing. Other than that they are pretty comfortable. I have since ordered another pair of the KEEN Targhee shoes, which I highly recommend if you’re looking for a waterproof shoe. My last pair of the KEENs lasted almost 3 years.

You get what you pay for. Don’t skimp on hiking boots!
This is my second pair of Merrill hiking boots I wanted a low ankle pair for the summer and chose these after much research. Just like everyone else mentions you can wear them right out of the box on a long hike if you have to. There’s no need to break them in. They fit great. I always buy a half size larger when I’m buying a tennis shoe or hiking boot. I had no issues with the shoe strings coming untied and that’s a plus. Merrell makes a very good shoe it’s well worth the money.

Just okay
The length is fine, but would have like a little more room in the toe area, ordered a wide width for this purpose. At the same time, I have to cinch the laces on the top to keep my foot from sliding back and forth. The leather toe already looks more worn out after few hikes compared to my Oboz hiking shoes of 5 years.

Upset. Not as they are advertised.
The photo of the shoes pictured here (bright green and dark green) were not the color of the shoes that arrived. I was going away shortly after the arrived and needed hiking shoes. To say I was highly disappointed is an understatement. Since my trip and wearing these shoes 3times, my infuriation grows. They are uncomfortable as well as the hideous color combination of tan on tan makes it hard for me to justify this purchase.

Not Waterproof
I’m very disappointed in my favorite brand. While these are comfortable and lightweight, they are most certainly not waterproof as described.

Miss-matched photo for brindle/tea
The brindle/tea photo is not the same model (?) of shoe or color, so Google them to see before buying.Outside of shoes that didn’t match the photo (hindsight is 20/20); I love them! Comfortable and fit well. Haven’t hiked in them yet but I’ll update if anything g changes.
