This camera is an upgraded version of Dahua's 4MP bullet camera, which I also liked. This new version adds "smart" motion detection, to avoid false alarms, but I haven't noticed much of a difference (probably because the cameras are located in an area that has a lot of traffic, which I'd expect to detect a lot of motion). The IR range is longer than the previous version's range and that's certainly a plus. If you've never installed a camera with a motorized zoom, you're in for a surprise... and you'll never want to go back to manual zoom focus. The auto focus is terrific, but, please note that, over time, the focus might be off, by a little. Just click the auto focus button, from the web interface, and it'll be perfect again. I've never installed these cameras without using the built-in POE, but you can use a 12v 1a ac adapter, for power, if you want.The only issue I've had with the camera is that, occasionally, when I set it up, I get a "Limited Resources" message, instead of the video, on the web interface. However, since I ALWAYS use these cameras with an NVR, I just do the adjustments, from there, without any problems.I hope this helps. For the price, the nighttime image quality is pretty good. However, the web based configuration software has deficiencies, seems slow and nearly zero English help/documentation. Also this camera and associated software is of Chinese origin and as such cannot be fully trusted with allowing it direct internet access or for use in any government environments for security reasons.

We bought these cameras to watch the wildlife in our back yard, primarily the deer that we feed. They replaced another camera we had up for several years. Picture is crystal clear. Even when we zoom in we can see the actual corn kernels in the trough, and even the whiskers on the deer! Night vision is black and white, but still extremely clear. Each camera covers a broad area, and we have had no issues of pixeling, clarity is amazing on our big smart tv. We have it hooked up to nvr, so we can also from our phone apps. Great price for a great camera. If you are looking for clarity, this one has it.

I purchased this IP camera because it had power over ethernet (POE) and had optical zoom. after following the instructions and watching a YouTube video on how to set up a "DAHUA IR bullet network camera" - the setup took me about 60 minutes... to power the device, just have to buy a power source which you can get on Amazon for about $10....I use the camera for a 24/7 live stream YouTube channel.... works great.

The firmware is old and not able to be updated but everything works well. I am able to autofocus and manually adjust visibility settings. Night vision is decent and setup was easy. I use it for the front of the house with a range of only 20 ft.

We bought three of these to use outside on our building. Although they stated that they would work to -40F, they certainly shutdown when they get very cold. We have to reboot them (unplug from the POE switch) after it warms back up. Otherwise, they seem good day and night and give good quality footage. I suppose this is why one has to pay over $1,000 for cameras with built in heaters. Best wishes.
