Dirt Devil PD11000 Quick Clean Spray Mop with Swipes Microfiber Scrubbing Pad

Compared to the Swiffer Wet Jet I love this mop more! The reason I choose this mop was because the pad can be washed instead of having to buy pads that you replace all the time, which can get expensive. I also like that you can put your own floor cleaning mixture into the dispenser. The only thing I didn't really care for is the spray pump, I rather just push a button and let it spray out (like the wet jet) but this one you spray pump. Great mop! If someone is looking for a cheaper alternative to the Wet Jet that works great this is the mop for you!

Works well. But first, (as other reviews have stated) since dirt devil doesn't package mop unit or pad in anything, pad arrives dirty from sitting in warehouse. I like the reduced packaging, but put the pad in something! Also as other reviews showed, sticker was already removed. And again due to no packaging, item does have some scuff marks on it. Finally, the bottle used for cleaner starts leaking immediately when you start pouring your cleaner in it, so it's messy. But it does a good clean up job.Update: after about 3 months of use on tiny bathroom & kitchen floors in condo 1x a week, trigger doesn't work properly. Let's you spray once and doesn't bounce back for more than a minute so you can't respray!

For the most part this mop is great but there are a couple things that could use improvement. The mop head is a bit smaller than I anticipated. It is pretty short and I was expecting it to be more like a Bona size mop. I do love the mop pad itself, it is very easy to remove and can be thrown into the wash. It is effective at getting scuff marks off hard wood floors which I love! I really like that I can put my own cleaning solution into the container to spray on the floor. Sometimes I use Pine Sol for a fresh smell. Sometimes a vinegar water mix to get any cleaning residue off of the floor. It is compact and portable and doesn't take up a lot of space. The solution container is a bit small so I usually have to refill it after doing a large room. If you are doing small rooms like bathrooms it should last a bit. Also for some reason the solution seems to leak once in a while and I am not sure why. It might be user error, maybe I need to push it in further but it can be annoying. 4 stars because it is effective for what it is made for.

I have had a few different brands of mops just like this one. This has to be my least favorite one. The handle isn't long enough and you have to bend over the entire time. I'm only 5'4" so that can't be the issue. The part that holds the mop cloth has rubber edges and when you try to go up against a wall it will just bend and not clean the edge or corner. You can not use mop cloths from other brands with this mop they do not hook on the same. They only give you one cloth to mop with. Yes they are washable but my whole downstairs has to be mopped so I like to change the cloths. So it usually takes me three. It already leaks and I've only used it three times. When it breaks, which it will, I will go back to my old brand.

I'm downgrading my review of this product after the pivot between the vertical handle and the horizontal cleaning pad assembly broke. As I mention below, I'm not a guy who doesn't know his own strength or anything, so the key pressure bearing part of the device ought to be able to take the pressure I put on it cleaning my floor. I ended up drilling through the entire pivot mechanism and threading wire through to hold it in place. It works, but it's disappointing to have to do that or buy a new one.The review below is correct as far as the mop's excellent characteristics. Just beware it might break when it shouldn't.Can't say enough about this. After snapping the handles of three Swiffer wet mops, I am thrilled that the neck of this Dirt Devil is strong enough to take a bit of scrubbing. (I'm not a body builder or super strong guy or anything; the Swiffers just couldn't take any torque.) It sprays strong and wide without a battery, and you can refill the reservoir with anything you want. I use the very cheap Totally Awesome at a 10:1 ratio and it works fine.

We've had a swiffer for a little over a year, and I've never been really happy with it. I ran across this while looking for mops, and decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did!We have wood laminate flooring, and regular mops leave streaks of water on them. Apart from leaving streak marks on the floor, regular mops left a little too much water on the floor for wood laminate and I was worried about it soaking in.This Dirt Devil is the best of both worlds for those familiar with regular mops and the Swiffer wet jet. Streak-free mopping due to the microfiber pad, which does a MUCH better job than those paper swiffer pads. So much more thorough, and more even application, and doesn't leave a ton of water behind, so it dries faster. Plus, you don't have to replace the pads. Just toss it in the washing machine. Oh and word to the wise--don't get the generic microfiber pads for this. They don't fit. Just invest in an extra Dirt Devil microfiber pad, it's worth it.Another major pro for the Dirt Devil over the Swiffer is that you can use your own fluid cleanser. If you want, that is. I prefer plain water for most cleanings. I like that I can use whatever I want in this. Also cuts down on costs since you're not having to buy replacement cleaner like I did for the Swiffer.

This is my second mop like this. It's a great idea, and it works wonderfully--until it breaks. I love the idea of a refillable reservoir and washable pads. I've had it 6 months and the end broke off while I was mopping my kitchen floor. The first mop I had like this did the same thing, and I contacted Dirt Devil, but they never even replied :(I have now tried to get my warranty for this mop and they don't ever reply. It's been less than 6 months. There is NO warranty on this mop in spite of what they say, so don't be fooled!
