One Wing - get it?
The title derives from the fact that, as the last in a series of lead guitarists for the group Wings, LJ is but "One Wing" (or ex-wing, but that might lead to a Star Wars pun). There is a terrific story that he tells in concert of the process of naming the album, but I'll let you all enjoy it at one of his shows, because if you get the chance to see him live, you REALLY SHOULD GO! All of LJ's work is incredible. While not my favorite album of his, even his weakest material is stronger than most. He is a guitar virtuoso. Check out "LJ meets the Beatles" or "Catch LJ Live" - two of my favorites. This album is great for appreciating his technique. You will forget that there is only one person playing, with no overdubs. The strength of the source material here (all Wings songs) is very uneven. There are some truly amazing songs that translate well to a guitar solo, and a few that are not as strong. But as I said, you really can't go wrong with anything LJ does. If you LOVE Wings, get this album; if not, start with something else of his.

LJ Revisits Wings and Strikes Gold
Laurence Juber is one of the finest guitar players around and his instrumental guitar albums have been the focus of his career for more than two decades. Yet, it's the few years he spent as lead guitarist for Paul McCartney & Wings that he's probably best know for. A visit with Sir Paul was the catalist for this album. When LJ presented him with a copy of "LJ Plays The Beatles" (2000), Paul asked, "What about Wings?" This collection of some of the best of the Wings era McCartney tunes features breathtaking arrangements taken from LJ's time as part of Wings and his unmatched talent on the acoustic guitar. Writing great melodies may have been one of Paul McCartney's strongest abilities and this album by Laurence Juber brings them right to the front in a way that only he can do.

Fantastic!
I dont have time to write a detailed review at the moment but this CD is fantastic! As good or better than LJ's Beatles CD.
