Love the creaminess and color

"Calypso Coral" turned out to be an ever so slightly orangey rose pink, dramatically different from the "coral" #3 in Bobbi Brown rouge sticks. I had occasion to talk to the sellers when I made my selection and they gave me the best information they could without my being able actually to see the rouge, but they couldn't offset the industry-wide prejudice against redheads (other than carrot-tops) and people with comparable skin colors. Cosmetic companies can't sell enough of the rouge and lipstick colors that look good on people with skins with gold overtones, so they discontinue the products, over and over. I had hopes for this color, but it turned out to be too pink, which means it has WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many blue overtones for me.

I am a light olive skin tone. I changed from Bobbi Brown's Powder Pink to Calypso Coral and now you can see I'm wearing blush - at least when I first put it on - but then I wipe a little off and the blush still shows a nice rosy color. The Powder Pink was really too light for my skin tone, the Calypso Coral is a little dark for my taste - but wears well through the day and I'll probably get more use since I'm putting on less.

This product was recommended to me and I thought $27 was a lot for the size but I decided to order anyway and read the other reviews first. I thought this color would be a little darker but it works just fine for me. It has a slight grease feel when you rub your finger tip on it but I found it easy to apply and a little goes a long way. This is one of the few blush/rouge products that really lasts all work day and doesn't disappear after a few hours. I do not like this color for my lips at all but do very much for my cheeks. I'll probably try a darker color next time but that won't be for a while probably!
