The Rock Says Hardcover – 1 Nov. 1999

Great book, and in great quality. I know some people complained about some of it being written in the first person and referring to himself as 'The Rock,' but any wrestling fan would both love and expect that from him, considering his character and personality. It is well written and I very much enjoyed it, would recommend it to any wrestling fan.

Yeah this is one of the dumbest books you will ever read. There's some pretty decent generic autobiographical stuff. The usual ABC youngster to grown man stuff you'd expect. You can learn a fair bit about the man and his life here. The LOL factor comes with this being written from the perspective of The Rock in half of the chapters. So you get Dwayne and The Rock alternating chapter to chapter. It's a little jarring and it's quite ridiculous reading his in gimmick chapters as it's very late 90's early 00's Rock. Worth a read if you're a fan, but if you're not into his wrestling stuff this will either confuse you, annoy you or make you laugh at how silly it is.

I am a huge wresting fan, so just had to read this, as I love the Rock – one of the hottest stars in showbiz. The book provides a great succinct account of his life so far, and journey into the showbiz world of WWE. The Rock uses a lot of his wrestling catchphrases in this book, which some people won’t like, but I didn’t mind and this will also make the book more appealing to kids. Needless to say, the Rock has gone on to much bigger things in Hollywood since this book was written which therefore aren’t covered here. The focus here is very much on wrestling and when the Rock was at his peak during the Attitude era.

A good read although its not up to date with his more recent goings on it is a very interesting back story leading the reader into his informative wwe years

I bought this book for a laugh, but it is actually really interesting. While it is old and hence a bit out of date, it provides some amazing insight into the The Rock's roots. It is easy to read and hard to put down once you get into it.There are about 50 pages that are about certain legendary WWF matches and are written from the perspective of the "The Rock"'s ring persona. I did not care for these much, but I'm sure any Wrestling fan (I'm just a Rock fan) will enjoy them.

I have been looking for this book for a little while so I was glad to finally track down an inexpensive copy here on Amazon. Haven't fully read it yet but no doubt I will find it an interesting read.

A gift

It gives a bit of insight into the man and his career. It was written when he was 27 and also putting in all the work to get ahead in life. It doesn’t cover everything but has some insights that definitely can be related to. It also portrays him as a bit of an angry young man which I hope he no longer is.

Was is brand new condition. Loved it.

This book was written over a decade ago. I don't know what took me so long to buy and read this book, being that I am a huge Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson fan. It was nice to see the evolution of a super star! He came from humble beginnings and as I've followed his career can see he's kept his humble nature. For any WWE or Rock fan, this book is a great read! You will enjoy rooting for this talented man and find yourself laughing out loud at certain parts in the book. It's an easy read and I appreciated the honesty of it all. There was no candy coating the nature of the sports entertainment business. You get a real look at what goes into entertaining the fans.
