Acceptable quality, but 12awg is a stretch
I got 2 packs of these connectors for landscape lighting, connecting my lights to 12awg low voltage cord. While they did work, 12awg is a bit much for these connectors, since you only get about 1 turn on the threads before the connector bottoms out on the cord. These would be perfect for 14awg cord though.

A good replacement option
These outdoor plugs are great replacement for the cheap ones that come with low voltage outdoor lights.Very durable.

We were shorted 13 connectors. I hope to hear back. Great item. Just a slip up probably. Waiting.

Easy Peasy
I wish they had these connectors when I did the lights years ago. These are simple to use and quick. Just split the wire down the middle like the directions say. It took a little more time since we used these on 28 year old low voltage line in the ground, but it still worked great. If your wire is hard/old like ours was, just take your time with a utility knife when separating the wires. I used the knife and a piece of metal on the backside of the wire so I could use the metal as a "backstop" for the knife. Just cut in a few places in the middle, then I took a large flat bladed screwdriver and used that to split the wire, while still using the metal "backstop". Once you split the wire, the connectors are a snap to install. We installed about 30 lights (2 connectors each). They are quality. I pulled on the wire fairly hard and no blinking of the lights/loose connections existed. One thing you have to pay attention to is making sure you don't "cross thread" the fitting when you attach it to the wire. Just make sure you put the cap on straight as you tighten the connectors. On a couple of them, I screwed them on a little crooked, and as I got it almost tight, it just popped off and wouldn't hold. Unfortunately, once you do that, the connector is toast. Luckily I learned that on the first couple of connectors. So, operator/installer error on my part. They are awesome connectors!

Worked well even on very old, har cable.
I replaced a set of old Malibu lights in my back yard but didn't really want to replace the existing 16 gauge cable. I assumed these connectors would work just fine but the older cable is quite a bit thicker than newer landscaping cables. I found that if I pinched the cable as hard as I could with a pair of channel locks, the bottom part of the connector would fit over the cable. The problem now is that is became a little hard to screw on the top piece of the connector since (1) the cable was old and hard, and (2) the cable was now fatter. So it took a little bit of patience assembling the two main parts of the connector. But once connected, the top piece worked like a charm and was easy to connect the wire from the lights.I guess that if I was using brand new cable, I wouldn't have had the same issues and I would have probably given them 5 stars. My reason for docking one star was simply - if the body of the connector had been a fraction longer, I would not have had any issues using them with old wires. Once the threads took grip, the parts went together just fine - the problem was simply getting that first turn to hold.

great
I have tried various methods of connecting wires but these are the best. easy to install and easy to remove. My lights are still working after two years so I'll continue to use these connectors for future outdoor lights.

Pricey but necessary for low voltage lighting
Nearly all of the options for low voltage lighting connectors are extremely overpriced, and they are all basically the same. They all hold up well to the elements and work as they should. Installing wires on these can be a pain since it pinches the cable and turns it while you tighten the cap. If you lose a cap, you basically cannot use the connector any more. The larger amounts of the connectors are usually the better deal. These connectors have worked well for my use, various walkway and spotlight lights on my 12v system.

Poor life span
Installed 9 of the 10 lights in November 2022, and by April 2023 only 6 of the lights still work.Would be nice if there was a way to contact the vendor and find out if there's a warranty or anything
