Renew: Invite the Designer to Refresh Your Heart Paperback – September 8, 2020

This was a great book with soul refreshing perspectives! The readings were easy to fit into a busy day as a working mom, yet still thought provoking. It really helped me declutter my thoughts (and home) as I worked through the Bible based messages. I enjoy decorating and loved how the perspective of a designer related to the perspective of the great Designer. Highly recommend this book for yourself, a bible study group or a gift.

I count it as God’s blessing that I had just started Valerie’s incredibly timely devotional, when I got notice that in 4 days would be my last day working for a company that I had devoted over 12 years to. I would have been lost, but her devotional reminded me that our MASTER DESIGNER had plans for me. I intentionally devoted each morning to the short but powerful daily reading to ground me and remind me throughout the day that God had a plan for me…to rest and trust in his timing. She even had a play list that I could listen to throughout the day when worries would start creeping in. I highly recommend it to the veteran and especially the new Christian followers as their first devotional.

This devotional is unlike any other that I've ever used! To be honest, I'm not a big devotional reader, but this one surprised me and challenged me. Each day, my soul underwent a little step in the renovation process and Valerie gently and lovingly guided me through each moment. I felt myself sorting out cluttered thoughts and old hurts that had caused my entire heart to be messy and just a little bit ugly! You will be blown away by the beauty and simplicity and refreshing that this devotional brings to you each day! And with great follow up tools and design tips scattered throughout, I'll go back to this devotional time and again.

RENEW is a great daily devotional that will help you lean into the Lord for the refreshing of your heart. The chapters are short, but each week has a main focus that helps you tie together each day. The chapter on Soul Clutter was particularly helpful. The author includes stories of her design experience to pull together the main ideas of God as the Designer of our hearts, and she includes a few pro tips along the way.

Renew delivers exactly as promised- a refreshing outlook to help us recenter on Him who matters most. Valerie’s words are succinct and she has a great ability to go straight to the heart and touch the soul from a unique, new perspective. Loved it and highly recommend!
