While these horseshoes were a bit lighter weight than I'd hoped, my kids are too young to be trusted with metal horseshoes and these ones were just heavy enough to throw accurately in low to moderate wind conditions. What I really love about them is they come with an actual metal spiked pole set as opposed to those flimsy plastic stumps-- we use them on grass at the park and at the beach and they have held up well. The only time I would not recommend them is in strong wind conditions.

Perfect for our kids. Solid stakes and horse shoes. Stakes are made of iron so they won’t break. Shoes are made of a heavy sturdy plastic but will do less damage than iron shoes.Highly recommend

I bought these with the idea of showing my 5 year old granddaughter the game of shoes. However, its quite light. I'll give you this, the stakes are perfect for a lightweight set though. Those were nice and they went in the ground with no issue. The shoes are a lot lighter than expected. 15 feet is the max distance with these and even so a gust of wind affects them.

The two metal spikes are by far the best part of this package. They look very quality and appear to have the ability to be very long lasting. However, The horseshoes provided are lightweight plastic that have no heft to them. Now I have to buy new horseshoes just to show my 9 year old the nuances of the game.

Kids love it great quality materials wish it had come with a carrying case to store and make it more portable
