Sir J.J. Special: J.J. Johnson's Ska And Rock Steady Productions 1966-1968

Hats off to Doctor Bird for putting this magical music back out into the world for appreciation, this is a fantastic compilation of long lost JA rarities. If you are a fan of original Ska & Rocksteady you won’t be disappointed, chock full of absolute belters.

This is a fantastic compilation of mostly rare ska and rocksteady tracks from the vaults of Sir J J Johnson. I'm a big ska and early reggae fan, but the large majority of these tracks were completely new to me. Some fantastic tracks by the Rulers and the Kingstonians among many others. I usually find several duff tracks and a few not-so-good ones amongst these Dr Bird compilations, but this one is all good. Thoroughly recommended!
