Carbon Killer removes carbon on contact. Use in chambers and barrels as a bore cleaner. Apply to cylinder faces, bolt faces and any other hard to clean areas and allow to soak for 2 to 10 minutes. Carbon, lead, copper, plastic and burnt powder will wipe clean with a nylon brush. Next cleaning will be much easier if used with a Slip 2000 Lubricant. Users will actually be able to wipe carbon and plastic wad fouling away.

Helps remove carbon, but it’s not perfect
I really like this product, I use it primarily when cleaning my AR15’s. It’s not perfect, but it does a pretty good job removing carbon....at least as well as other products on the market. And it def gets bonus points for smelling so good. It’s also better to let your parts “soak”, otherwise, I find it almost useless. I tend to throw my bolt, firing pin etc. into some of this while cleaning the rest of my weapon, this allows enough time to then simply go back and wipe a lot of the carbon right off*******************************I rely heavily on reviews when I make purchases so I put some time into reviewing everything I buy on Amazon for personal or business use so I can help other people considering that item. My brother suggested Slip2000 products to me for my first ...
My brother suggested Slip2000 products to me for my first AR-15 build project, and he wasn't wrong! All the Slip2000 products are necessary additions to your cleaning and lubrication kits, especially if you own a military-style rifle, shotgun, or handgun. This product lives up to its name: it kills any carbon with very little effort. Just a few squirts on your rag from this twist-open applicator, and the carbon will melt away. No complaints, and it's safe, biodegradable, and non-toxic. Carbon build-up is a particularly nasty problem for the AR-15 platform due to the nature of the direct impingement gas system. If you own an AR-15, it is already begging you for Slip2000 Carbon Killer...you just have to listen up and buy it.

Another great Slip 2000 product!
First heard about Slip 2000 Carbon Killer at a 3-Gun match. I use Carbon Killer to clean the bore after I use a bore brush and cleaner solvent. Add a few drops to soak the barrel and let it sit while you clean the rest of your gun and rotate the barrel when you lay it flat so it gets to all sides of the bore. Run a few cotton patches through and you'll be amazed at what it gets (after you use a brush and solvent). Add a few drops of Carbon Killer down your AR barrel too and let it sit while you clean the rest of it and soak your BCG in Carbon Killer too. Great product and will buy again.

yay
I had used some cheap lead nosed ammo in my rifle causing the barrel to get badly caked up with lead. I could not get it off with the copper brush & hoppes brand cleaner. I tried slip2000 & it came off! I still had to put a lot of work into it, but it worked! I will definitely shoot better ammo from now on. I had actually called the manufacturer thinking my gun rifling was messed up, but the gun tech recommended using a lead cleaner. I would have never guessed so much lead could get deposited from a few hundred shots. I definitely recommend Slip2000 for lead build up! smells nice too

SLiP 2000 Carbon Killer Bore cleaner
Best carbon cleaner on the market, period.Does everything marketing-speak says and doesn't smell up you house or dry out your hands. And yes you can reuse it. I soak really heavy carbon components in a small disposable baking tin, and filter product through gauze for storage. It works just as well next time! I use the small bottle for quick clean-ups in the field/range.Buy the 32oz bottle for your home use!

Be patient, it works just fine...
When I first used this product I was unimpressed, but when I learned to give it time to work, it did the job VERY effectively. I took a bronze (copper) brush to the bore of a thoroughly saturated barrel, repeatedly passed the cleaning rod through, and then let the product work for about 15 to 20 minutes. What I didn't get out with Ballistol (which, FTR, I've found to be a fairly good product) I most certainly did with Carbon Killer. That said, it's not necessarily something I'd slather all over my gun and let sit - it's a heavily concentrated degreaser and carbon remover. There are other products I'd use to clean the frame and slide of my firearms. Like try, Slip's 725 gun cleaner. It's not quasi-industrial like this product is. Oh, and if you're sensitive to strong odors, Carbon Killer has a rather pleasant citrus sent to it, too, which is a bonus (but it's rather assertive).

Great stuff
I don't know what they put into this stuff but it works. It really does a great job of dissolving caked on carbon. I used it on the gas piston assembly of my Beretta shotgun. Best part of all: It actually smells rather pleasant. It has a citrus-like scent.

Not quite as magic as you might hope
After shooting 100 clays today, I applied a soaked patch in contact with the heavy fouling just past the chamber of my top barrel and let it soak for half an hour. I then wiped with a wool mop. There was very little visible effect. I then repeated the soak for 15 minutes and scrubbed lightly with a bronze brush. A good cleaning effect was now visible as compared with the bottom barrel which had just had the wool mop and the brush applied to it. However, the barrel is still not clear of fouling and requires further cleaning.I would assess this product as moderately successful at removing fouling but very poor value for the price.
