Great value
I've had plantar fasciitis for about 2 months and decided to try a night splint to see if it helps. This was the least expensive one by far so I figured I'd give it a try. My left foot hurt much worse than the right, so I wore this for a few nights on the left. It wasn't instant relief, but after a few nights I noticed the pain had lessened quite a bit, and I actually felt more pain in the right foot when getting out of bed. So this splint apparently works. It's so cheap I ordered another for the right foot. After wearing these for a few weeks, my plantar fasciitis has lessened enough that I started running again. The large size fits well enough on my size 10 foot. It is easy to put on with the 3 velcro straps and comfortable enough for what it is. It feels like wearing ski boots to bed and it takes some getting used to, but I imagine any hard splint is the same. I read a review on a different splint that offered tips on wearing it for the most comfortable fit, and it works with this one too. Tighten the shin strap the tightest, tighten the ankle strap firm but not as tight, and leave the foot strap loose enough to slip 2 fingers under. It still allows the foot to remain at a 90 degree angle, but doesn't cut off circulation during the night or cause pain. It worked well for me.As for cons, the velcro straps are really long and seem to be made for tree trunks, instead of human legs, but they still work. You'll just have a lot of extra strap left dangling after tightening them. It still gets 5 stars from me because it does what its supposed to do, at a third of the price of other splints on Amazon. How can you beat that?

Let me wake up pain free, definitely worth the price and having to store the ugly things.
I have pain from Plantar Fasciitis in both feet, but I figured I would only buy one brace at first to see if it works. My left foot is always the bad one, so I figured I would start there. Yesterday I wore less than ideal shoes during the day, after a week when I had been standing and walking more than usual. By nightfall, my right foot was hurting mildly, and my left foot hurting moderately. I put the brace on my left foot, fell asleep, and woke up eight hours later to moderate pain in my right foot (it's always worse in the morning), and miraculously, NO pain in my left foot. Seriously: it made my bad foot painless in one night. Of course I'm not saying I'm cured - there have still been twinges during the day - but waking up pain free is such an amazing improvement. Now for the bad: my five star review is because I am so blown away by the results, not because the product is perfect. I wear a women's ten, and so bought the large like the description recommends. This meant I had to tighten the straps quite a bit, which doesn't leave much room for the velcro to stick, which is what keeps the strap position steady when you buckle and unbuckle the brace. At the moment, it looks like I might have to adjust the straps whenever I put it back on, which is the last thing you want if you need to pee in the middle of the night. I am thinking about buying some extra velcro, so I can extend the part that sticks and solve it myself. I am also considering trying a medium when I buy one for my other foot, but I'm worried that if the hard calf rest part is narrower then it might be too uncomfortable. It's certainly bulky, but that seems necessary for it to work. I found it comfortable enough to sleep the whole night in right away. I sleep on my back, and didn't want my the platic part digging into my calf, so I put a pillow under my knee and upper thigh, which seemed to help a lot. I would also suggest you try keeping the straps a little less tight than you might think you need. You don't need to keep your foot at a very severe angle for it to improve. And if it's cutting off circulation, then something is definitely not right.Edit May 22, 2018: I have not used these constantly since buying them, the problem healed and then unfortunately came back again when I wore out my old inserts. But I have worn them every night for months now, and they are still effective and going strong. I now have one for each foot, and they were definitely worth the money.

Helpful Splint for Plantar Fasciitis Pain
I purchased this splint to help with plantar fasciitis pain. I like that the splint helps keep my foot in a flexed position at night, which seems to help with my foot pain (pain is reduced, but not eliminated). I'd previously tried a less "substantial" splint option, and this splint definitely does a better job of maintaining foot flex position. Also, since this splint is offered in different sizes, I was able to get a better fit for my foot size. The buckle/clip closures make getting the splint on/off quick and easy, and the velcro straps allow for adjustment as needed. The straps have generous length, which I was tempted to trim, but haven't yet. I was worried about trying to sleep with a bulkier splint, but it's been easier than I expected. I do find it necessary to sometimes loosen the straps for comfort overnight - a really snug fit better holds the foot in position, but can become uncomfortable during the night. I've been awoken a couple of times with my toes throbbing after I was overly ambitiously in my strap tightening. I've experimented with wearing the splint some during the day, while working at my desk, or in the evening while watching TV; but I find I prefer overnight wear because there's less need to walk in the splint. It is possible to walk in the splint, but I find it a little uncomfortable, and especially tricky on non-carpeted surfaces. This is a splint, not a walking boot. There's a "grip" section on the bottom of the splint, but nothing on the heel, so when you plant your heel on a smooth surface, you might just go skating. Also, while the inside of the splint is padded for comfortable wear, the foot position in the splint isn't optimal for walking, so I prefer wearing shoes with support insoles during the day and evening. For me, this splint is a part of my overall plantar fasciitis care routine. I've noticed less morning pain since wearing it overnight, but am still waiting on total healing.
