It would be hard to argue that you "need" one of these, but it does exactly what it says it does. I like the convenience of doing it all with one tool rather than a few (I used to use a sharp knife, a spoon and a fork for this method), but what I love the most is that it is does the job effectively without a sharp knife; that makes it the perfect tool for both my grandkids and my aging mother. The large, soft grip handle is perfect for little hands and arthritic hands alike. No, I don't need it, but I use it all the time when Mom and the grandkids aren't helping me in the kitchen. It is so nice to give them a stool, a bowl, a single tool and an avocado to accomplish their task; they do their job and I can scurry about the kitchen doing mine, without needing to supervise anyone else.And think outside the box, it can be used for things other than avocados. Cut open a baked potato and smash it, lift an olive out of the jar and drain it, don't get stuck on the idea that it is a single use tool, get creative.

This is my one and only go to Avocado tool. Nice wide handle. Fast and easy to cut and scoop. I keep one at hoe ad the other at work.

This tool is amazing! One tool to slice open the avocado, remove the pit, slice and scoop it out! I don't know how I managed before buying this tool!

The plastic knife cuts through a ripe avocado easily. The pit remover works too well, jettisoning the pit across the room as it releases from the fruit.What doesn't work at all is the slicer, which mashes the avocado instead of slicing it, and leaves large bits of the fruit behind. Makes a huge mess. Completely useless.

This tool makes it it much easier and safer to dissect avocados! It’s easy to clean and is made of a very durable plastic. The slicer is key for adding tasty avocado slices to sandwiches or salads. No more almost slicing my fingers off trying to extract that green gold!

This is my FAVE kitchen tool! I cannot rave about it enough. It scoops out the avocado, it slices the avocado, it smashes up the avocado. And it's construction is so excellent I feel like it will last forever. Every avocado lover needs one of these in their kitchen, instead of 3 tools to do all the things you want to do to an avocado!

The scooper part for slicing and extracting the inside has no sharpened edges and is poor quality plastic. It might work well if you were gutting a lot of overly ripe large avocados, but I couldn't imagine it lasting very long. The knife edge for cutting the skin is not very effective. The only thing I might use is the core remover, but I'm going back to my trusty, serrated fruit knife for everything else.

While the idea is good it is hard to mash in a bowl since the spoon area isn’t curved enough.

Product is good as advertised. works fine but if you are left handed person then it will not the way you want. It has teeth and curve for normal use(right handed person not for left handed person). I did not know before buying.
