Take your tournament play to another level!
Probably the shortest poker book I own, but it thoroughly covers short stack play in a way that no other poker book i have ever read does. If you are a tournament player, you owe it to yourself to buy and study this book! I would be being disingenuous if i did not recommend my fellow tournament players buy and read this book. Thankfully most won't.

Great and concise! Loved it!
I loved this book! I've read a few dozen poker books in my lifetime and my biggest complaint with the majority of them is all of the repetitive and boring filler! This book is short, easy to read, and straight to the point. I didn't have to grind through countless pages of reiterated terms and strategies that anyone who has study poker, even just a little bit, already knows. I'm a little out-of-date on modern tournament strategies and have struggled in late stage tournaments (when many stacks get short) so this quick read was a huge help! Chris provides great explanations of short stack zones and strategies that I can and will implement into my tournament games. Even his one little chapter about deep stack play at the end of the book was very insightful with several interesting and useful notes. He teases the reader about writing another book on deep stack play... if he ever does, I'd purchase a copy immediately. I also really liked how the book read, it almost felt like Chris is just having a one-on-one conversation with you about poker. Not like a textbook like some pokers books read.

Required Reading for Tournament Players
Chris "Fox" Wallace has produced what I consider the best tournament book in my collection. Lots of books tell us all about deep stack play and treat short stack play in tournaments almost as an afterthought. Not this one! Fox covers topics of short stack play I haven't seen anywhere else, except at tables where I've been beaten by good players using these concepts. This is the first time I've ever seen coverage of stacks less than five big blinds as anything more than all hope is lost -- get it in and cross your fingers. Not Fox! You will read about concepts that give you a fighting chance to get back into it.Do you have 20-30 big blind effective stacks? With the concepts taught in this book, you own a hammer that can take you to the final table. Up until now I've always thought you just play tighter. Many writers dismiss this phase of the game as just being difficult. Playing these stacks poorly has resulted in my underperforming after the money bubble. But armed with Fox's insights, I'll now carry a hammer in these spots!Fox writes in a plain, no-nonsense style that will be easily recalled in the heat of battle. Great book!

The best poker book I ever read!
In 100 pages, Chris 'Fox' Wallace accomplishes what no other poker coach has done, in writing or video: He encapsulates advanced poker strategy in 100 pages. Exactly 100.This book is so good, while I was reading it, I said to myself, "I have to read this again." And I will.I've been playing poker since 2006 and have read more than 100 books. Seriously. Not an exaggeration. I'm happy to brag that I am a winning player (about $50,000 to the good, so far, but the goal is $35M).The Short Stack Ninja is must reading for serious tournament players. After all, the "real" tournament is in final stages, where everyone is short stacked.Wallace offers the readers multiple "weapons" when short stacked, and offers them in chapters based on the shortness of your stack (0-5 BB; 5-10 BB; 10-20 BB; 20-30 BB; and over 30BB. The final chapter offers some tips on "deep stack" play (100BB+).This is a great book, and I'm grateful to Chris 'Fox' Wallace for writing it.

Great stuff
This book has changed the way I look at short stacked play.If you do the work he suggests, you'll be a very strong short stack player. And all the work is clearly described. He'll even email you his spreadsheet to do the calculations if you ask him. There's nothing else like this on the market that I have seen. Extremely clear and concise. And at $7.99? Well, that's a ridiculously low price for something of this excellent quality.

Want to play perfect poker?
For anything under thirty big blinds in a tournament, this book will teach you how. Easy to follow, yet incredibly detailed. Chris Wallace lays out the best way to play small stack tournament poker--which is where you'll be most of the time in a tournament.A must buy and a must read for anyone serious about tournament poker.

I will definitely use the concepts learned in future play. Would recommend this book, comes in handy for online sit n goes where the stacks are often in the zones discussed.

Wow..
Wow...just, wow. This guy is the real deal. I was a cash player for years but I've recently got into MTT's. I always loved playing them but it was more of a recreational thing. Going from that to taking it seriously has been a bit of a struggle. For the past few months, I've been in this annoying situation where I'm ITM ~25% but still losing big time overall (obviously part of this is not sticking to bankroll management, but it has a hell of a lot to do with how I'm playing too). Making it to the top 10% or so at best on 2 tables and p**sing my chips away on the other 4 is basically how I've been playing for the past while.I read this book yesterday and absolutely smashed it at the tables last night. I know it's not just a case of variance and running good because I recognised dozens of situations I had been in before where instead of throwing my chips away like usual, or playing too tight, I applied the concepts in the book instead and felt like I was in control and playing solid tournament poker the whole time. Restealing often, conserving my stack when I'm +20bb, trying to squeeze as much value out of my <6bb stack hands as possible. Everything just came together right away and made perfect sense.Obviously I'm expecting variance to kick in and I might make a loss tonight, but at least I'll know I'm playing with a much higher level of confidence and skill now and I'm sure my bankroll will thank me for buying this book in the long run.The book is very short and concise. Straight to the point. No filler. Math portions are completely optional and separate from the rest of the sections in each chapter. I honestly can't thank the author enough for sharing this with us.

Amazing help for tournament poker. Teaches principles for optimal play. By learning these you will also reduce decisions triggered merely by emotions. Knowing the right weapons in short stack play helps to stay calm and focused in heated situations.

If you play tournament poker, this is a MUST read. No ifs, no buts.
Playing short-stacked is the bread and butter of any tournament poker player and in this book Chris Wallace provides an interesting and somewhat alternative view on how to maximise value in some of the spots you will inevitably find yourself in (sooner or later). The book is short and sweet but packed with information and reflection points to study off the felt and integrate into your game. I found the 0-5bb section (which he names the "value hunting zone") especially enlightening, as he presents his approach that counters the traditional push-fold strategy and instead invites you to identify value by looking at the table and its dynamics. As the title of the review says, if you play tournaments (live or online) you must study this book and integrate its many nuggets of wisdom into your play. Your win rate will thank you!
