You need this tool
If you are using the VistaView SS cable system you must have this tool. Apart from cutting the cable shorter and pushing the swift catch through this is the only other method of removing the swift catch without cutting the cable. You might think you only need this if uninstalling the cabling but trust me you will need this at original installation at least once or twice as the swift catch mechanism occasionally won't slide over a cable and you have to remove it and try again.

Works great on Feeney cable systems
I needed a cable release tool for a repair job on a Feeney cable system and was having trouble finding an actual Feeney tool at a reasonable price and easily available. This version seems to work well, although those from another manufacturer.

MUST HAVE FOR CABLE RAILINGS!
When buying the cable railing system; I wish it would have said to spend the extra $10 and get the quick release tool. We didn't know we needed it until we were working on it. Then I had to place the order and wait for it to come in. We now have our cable railing up thanks to this tool!

A tool you will need for that oops moment
So, you are threading cable through posts and really in a groove. Super pleased with yourself for how great this railing is looking. You push another cable through the SwiftCatch fitting and look back: #@$% You accidentally threaded through the wrong hole on one of the posts. Whip out this release tool and the cable slides out of the SwiftCatch easily and you can rethread the cable.
