To date, this is the best keyboard I've used. It's very clean and professional with the gray/black keycaps, and the switches feel clicky and don't make much noise, which is a plus for shared spaces. Pairing over Bluetooth is a bit slow, so I like to use USB when I can. The custom color modes are nice, and the pure white mode is good for use at night.

The Keychron K8 is an extremely good keyboard, almost perfect. The only issues I have with it, is that there is no more options for the type of key switch. I wish there were options of Kailh and Cherry MX rather than just Gateron. The other issue is that they should have a PBT keycap option, for longer lasting keycaps. Otherwise, since it is hot-swappable and you can just change the keycaps, this keyboard is virtually perfect. It has amazing build quality, at least for the aluminum version that I have. The keycaps are very good, not too much RGB bleed through the keycaps, and a good amount of RBG options. This keyboard is also hot-swappable which makes it a very good option for beginners or enthusiasts. It also has bluetooth which makes it a compelling option for a wide variety of people. Not only that but it has support for Windows, MacOS, and for some reason Android and iOS if you're going to be buying a super expensive keyboard for your phone, if you're into that. This keyboard is great, I highly recommend this keyboard over the rest, the only thing is you're going to have to live without software. As they haven't created one but they should, it would honestly complete the experience for this keyboard.

The keyboard easily has a hundred dollar feel to it for features and quality. Compared to the membrane keyboard I was previously using the keys seem a little smaller and are definitely louder but not too loud. The brown keys seem like the right choice for low noise level. Connectivity was EZPZ. For the moment the RGB functionality is cool but not a priority. I suspect the light effects will be appreciated more in a dimly lit room. Key cap swap for the windows keyboard went without a hitch but don’t forget to set the switch for Windows/Mac for Windows if that’s your OS. The keys have a smooth solid feel to them. The height of the keyboard requires a wrist rest at least for the way I use it. The aluminum frame and bezel make the keyboard feel like it is built like a tank. If you’re looking for a keyboard with connectivity options and a quality feel and like the idea of being able to personalize it a little then you will like the Keychron K8.

I'm super picky about keyboards. I just wanted to state that up front. My favorite has been das Keyboard. I've tried SO many others. I started programming back in the days of the IBM Model M 101 keyboards (oh so sweet). Being able to take it apart once a year and clean the switch contacts was so satisfying. Over the past decade or so, since mechanical keyboards have once again become the rage, I've tried a lot. Most recently, SteelSeries, Logi G Pro, Ducky, and a few others. The Logi G Pro was nice but I kept having problems with their switches and kept having to change them. The SS died after less than a year and I couldn't get it fixed. The Duckys are great, but I could never find a basic colored one and I didn't like the funky colors. And soooooooooooo expensive. I kept reading reviews of Keychron and some were great and some not-so-great. I went TKL a few years ago to save desk space and compared all the Keychrons. For my desktop I don't need wireless but the K8 just seemed to match what I wanted. When it came in, I was impressed. I know it uses regular Gat switches (I went with Browns for pseudo-quiet typing). The layout and features are nice. I like having switches to turn it off if I'm not going to use it for a few days. Replaceable switches mean I hope it lasts a while. :-) And I love the ability to change switches if I want to. It feels decent and looks nice. It's a little bit bulkier than others that have a flat plate look to them. The included USB-C to USB-A cable is high quality with a right-angle connector for the keyboard but is a bit short. It is a bit echoey when typing and the space bar rings a lot. It doesn't have any "real" internal dampening so that's why. I know I could add dampening foam. The keycaps are crud. Very slick and thin. I hated them. I wound up buying a set of cheap shine through PBT keycaps on Amazon for about $25 and it's much better. The normal Gat switches aren't my favorite, but they'll do. I bought the "aluminum" frame version and just note only a rim around the keyboard is the only thing that is aluminum. The rest is super plasticy and feels a bit cheaper than others that have more aluminum / metal. But it doesn't feel "cheap" overall. For the price, I have not found a more comfortable, professional looking, and customizable keyboard... until the K8 QMK/VIA comes out. :) I already ordered the new K8 QMK/VIA after using this one for a while. It has all the best features of this K8 with some amazing upgrades. QMK/VIA support, double-shot PBT keycaps, Gat Pro switches (still replaceable), etc. Super excited for when it finally starts shipping. I'll keep this current K8 for other uses as it is really good.

I have been looking for an external keyboard that is designed to work well with Mac and this one checked all my boxes. I was debating between the K8 and the K1 and thought I would like the K1 because of its low-profile which is similar to the Apple keyboard I had been using, but (as another reviewer mentioned), the key presses just felt off on the K1. Not sure if it's the actuation force or the travel distance, but it felt clunky. Other than that, I absolutely loved the look of the K1, but in the end I decided to go with the K8 because of its true mechanical switches. The aluminum frame is a nice touch that makes them both look and feel solid. RGB backlighting is a nice bonus and looks really good. Tons of different lighting options. I can't speak to the battery life as I'm only using it in wired mode right now. But if I do need to go wireless, the ability to switch between three different bluetooth connections will be awesome! One of my biggest pet peeves with the Apple bluetooth keyboards was that using them with multiple computers is a huge pain – if my partner was WFH before me, it would connect to her computer and the only way to switch it over is for her to disconnect the keyboard first.

I just received this yesterday, and my first impressions was great. It connected to my computer immediately and I love the feel of it when typing. It's a little bit high, but it's a simple fix with a wrist rest. But today (second day owning it), I was using it and stepped outside for 10 minutes. After coming back, the backlight/RGB for the keyboard was off, so I just thought that it's in sleep mode. I hit some keys to see if it wakes up, but nothing happened. I turned off the keyboard and turned it back on to Bluetooth mode...still nothing. I changed connections to cable (making sure that the cable is in and the switch is properly in cable mode)...still nothing. I spent the past 1-1.5 hours trying every possible option to get the keyboard working, but I still don't get any response. The only thing I got was the charging indicator on the right side of the keyboard, and that was when I plugged in my keyboard. It is currently fully charged and I'm going to drain the battery to see if it's going to do anything (well, there's no way of knowing because there's no indication when unplugged). I have contacted the customer support, and hopefully, they can resolve this issue. I highly doubt I'm doing anything wrong because I followed the attached instructions and was working fine just before it abruptly stopped working. I have heard good things about this keyboard, and it's a shame that I'm experiencing this. I'll change my review if they can resolve it, but my initial impressions aren't great. at all

A great keyboard for an amazing price. Want a mechanical board, easy get a Ducky. Oh you want wireless, well plenty of offerings to choose from. Oh you want backlighting, well still plenty of offerings to choose from. Oh you want discrete function keys and ten-keyless, man you are making this really hard but Logitech and IQuinex make some nice looking board. Oh you don't want to spend over $200 well, Keychron makes a board that is very highly reviewed with your choice of Gateron or optical, and its even has a hot swap-able model. This keyboard is great, the positive reviews of it are entirely justified and accurate, and while I ordered brown's and got blues I am not even mad, exchanging it is more of a hassle than having blue switches for now. One thing for people considering this board for a windows machine that took me a moment to realize when looking at the photos, the package includes the key caps for windows keys and alt keys for you to swap as necessary. So yeah its perfect regardless of OS.

My Keyboard journey has reached an end... for now until I decide ton spend another $200 on the Steel series pro omni-point switch keyboard. This is one of the best keyboards I have ever had for the money. Next to my Razer Huntsman Elite it is in a class of its own being $100 cheaper than my already Premium end game Razer Huntsman Elite keyboard. This K8 has N key roll over meaning it registers more than 10 fingers keeping up with the fastest typist out there. This keyboard is also hot swappable with the price point of $104 plus tax to get every single feature on this product so far up to its final form. You can have any mechanical switch on this whether its a 2 pin switch ir a 3 pin or 5 pin it will work I plan on getting some Kailh pale blue switches for this keyboard since Kailh are my favorite switch manufacturer. Sorry gaterons but you will do for now.

Personalmente yo hice el cambio a este teclado desde un hutsman mini de la marca razer y no estoy para nada arrepentida, quería algo custom pero se salía de presupuesto aunque después de leer y buscar me encontré con los teclados Keychron. La calidad de las teclas y la sensación al teclear son brutales, el material se nota de muy buena calidad y le da una patada a cualquier teclado que haya tenido de alta gama en cuánto a marcas comerciales "gamer". Poder usarlo de manera wireless (la duración de la batería es muy buena) o con cable es un puntazo y sin hablar de la opción de poder ponerlo en iOS o Android (yo no uso esta opción, pero para gente que programa es muy útil). La reseña la escribo después de 3 meses usando el teclado diariamente, el principal uso que le doy es para videojuegos y las sensaciones son buenas, el único problema que he tenido es en el modo Wireless, pero que después de investigar proviene de mi sistema con el bluetooth que al no tenerlo integrado en el pc y ser vía pendrive da un poco de delay en el movimiento (sobre todo notorio en los shooters). En general estoy muy contenta y sinceramente y es de lo mejor en cuánto a teclado prediseñado, por supuesto que un teclado custom (siempre y cuando los materiales y los componentes sean buenos) es mejor, pero nada que envidiar por el momento.

Sulla qualita' delle Keychron c'é poco da dire. Ottime tastiere con una qualita' costruttiva eccellente. Il corpo in alluminio le conferisce una buona robustezza e da' la sensazione di solidita' e stabilita'. Il feedback tattile e' eccezionale. I cherry Brown sono impareggiabili. Ottima la corsa, la precisione. La retroilluminazione e'buona ed essendo RGB ha diverse opzioni. Possibilita' di collegamento sia wireless che con cavo, ottima la batteria. Alimentazione e caricamento tramite USB C. Collegamento bluetooth fino a tre dispositivi. Doppio OS, quindi sia per Windows che per Mac che si setta con uno un tasto laterale e con tasti intercambiabili a corredo. Possibilita' di switch a caldo. Il layout e'una QWERTY ISO internazionale 80% che personalmente preferisco, quindi se siete abituati al layout ITA non va bene. Ho anche la K2 ed una Varmilo oltre alla Magic Keyboard di Apple, ma questa e' quella che preferisco. Straconsigliata

It's such a great keyboard for people who like gamer keyboards. So easy to use your fingers don't hit the key you don't want to. It feels great to use, and the lights on the keyboard make it easier to use as you can see the key you're trying to hit. If you are a two-finger typer like me, it also looks great. It is very sturdy and will last as it is not all made out of plastic parts from the keys. The different light combination is a light show for every person's preference.
