MERRCO Sump Pump, 1HP 3302GPH 750W Sumbersible Water Pump with Float Switch and Long 16ft Cable for Pool draining, Tub, Garden, Irrigation

I bought this pump to flood the ice on my pond in the winter. We like to skate and play hockey, so I bought this to pump water on my pond in the winter. This worked well for my needs. I cut a hole in the ice, drop this in, and start pumping. I'd run it constant for 3 to 4 hours at a time. Probably ran it for 15 hours this winter. Still working fine, so I have no complaints.One ODD thing: The first time I used it, I dropped it the hole, and just got a trickle of water. It was humming, and pumping, but there was barely enough to come out of the hose. Took it out of the hole and made sure nothing was plugging it, then dropped it back in. Still nothing... I was pissed and ready send it back! I decided to take the hose off, and put it back in the water. When I did that, it shot water straight up just as you'd think it should. I shrugged my shoulders, put the hose back on, and it started pumping just fine. The hose swelled with water and it was running great. It made no sense to me. The hose was not blocked or kinked, but it wouldn't start pumping. All I did was remove the hose and then put it back on, but seemed like some kind of magic took place. Anyway, once that was over, it worked fine ever since.

Drains very good. Had to use it several times already and I tell you this is a life saver. It's easy to use, it's not loud at all and it works fairly quickly. I would purchase another.

I got the MERRCO Sump Pump, 1HP 3302GPH 750W Sumbersible Water Pump with Float Switch about a year ago. It switches on but I have to regularly check it to make sure it switches on. It has not turned on its own. I have tried sliding the tube in all different lengths but it doesn’t work. Time for a new pump. I’m tired of going into a flooded basement to sweep the water.

I purchased this to drain my hot tub and am thoroughly impressed with the speed of this pump. It is extremely quiet too. Note that this will not attach to an ordinary garden hose without some other connectors. I used backwash hosing with clamp rings, which worked out great with the high flow rate of this machine.My only complaint is that I wish it could have gotten the last inch or so of water, but it was not a big deal since I used a wet/dry vac for that.I look forward to using for my 13,000 gallon inground pool the next time it needs a water change - I have faith that this pump will do the job well and efficiently. Highly recommend!

I read their instruction manual and it always refers to only a AC 120 volt power source. I could go into the product design not being suitable to pump a basement but I am stopping at my main point that it is not as advertised. This unit cannot be connected to a DC power source. These deceptive advertisements need to stop.

Bought this over a year ago. Have drained about 40+ pools of over 8k gallons each. And still running strong.

IT DOES WHAT IT SAY, THE POND WAS EMPTY WITHEN MINUTES.. NOT USABLE FOR VERY SHALLOW WATER BUT GREAT TO EMPTY OTHER WATER AREA.. THANK YOUI am adding to my review, it has just one problem after few uses, the handle does not want to stand and we have to manually hold it while we are holding it it works like lightening, the power is impressive and it empties the water in no time.. but holding the handle is extremely inconvenient.. the hose is not good quality and it is bended, which I do not care I can buy new hose .. it is still a great product.. wish they repair the handle..

I've had several sump pumps before and most rust away and are useless in a couple of years so it was time to try a new one. The price is right and in clean water it pumps well, but when i got to the bottom of my pool where the dirt and sand were, it bogged down rapidly. Its very important that you plumb it correctly. I had much better luck with rigid pvc vs a standard blue discharge hose. Not a bad buy overall, but I was hoping that a 1hp pump was at least twice as good as my old 1/2 and 1/3 hp pumps and that does not appear to be the case.
