Not true Wrangler Carpenter jeans
These are Wrangler "Authentics" NOT Wrangler "Carpenter" jeans. They are confusing two very different models. If you are looking for loose fitting carpenter jeans this is not what you are looking for. If you are looking for Wrangler Authentics, this IS what you are looking for. Two very different fitting jeans.

Comfortable jeans that are made to last
I don't buy jeans often, but when I do I like to get those that are comfortable, affordable and going to last. These by Wrangler definitely fit you well and are stylish enough to wear with a t-shirt or polo shirt. I wear a 36"x30", and these are comfortable and make you feel good wearing them.Again I don't wear jeans a lot, but these are now my go-to jeans when I'm looking for something casual and affordable to wear.

Pocket corner threads tear, zipper failed.
I ordered 3 pairs of these jeans and have worn each pair approx. (3) times. The fit is what I expected when I ordered however they are not a heavy stitched jean. I'm a bigger guy and work construction. I jam stuff in my pockets all the time and I have fairly large hands, when I reach into my pockets sometimes I hear tearing at the pocket corners and the threads rip. There are rivets there but I don't think these jeans are going to hold up to my abuse. I also had one pair of the three that the second time I wore them the zipper jumped off of track and I had to tie wire the front of my pants to get through the day. I am not bothering sending them back as it's a waste of my time. But I won't order them again. Compared to other jeans I've owned the denim seems medium to heavy weight.*UPDATE* Zipper just failed on second pair worn them 3 times.

My phone fits in the TOOL POCKET!!
First time I bought these and it looks like a good buy. I buy carpenter jeans and use the tool pocket as a "phone pocket." I would have given 5 stars if that pocket was a little bigger. My phone fits but I have a Galaxy S7 Edge with their S case and there is not much room to spare. I'm not sure if a bulkier case would fit.The jean fit was good for me (38x32 : 6' 0" 235lbs). The jeans are comfortable and well made. I like there is more belt loops than some other brands.

Great comfortable, practical jean
Love these jeans they are very soft, and have deep back and front pockets so your not worried about things falling out. I do not use the hammer loop all that much but do use the 2 leg pockets. The outside leg pocket works great for a phone, my iPhone 7 with RokForm case around it fits snug in that pocket and slides about 3/4 of the length of the phone down the pocket so I am not worried about it falling out. The diagonal side pocket is good have tested with a collapsable ruler and am able to get it in and out easily, dont really know what else to use the pocket for except possibly a utility knife. The fit is as advertised, relaxed in thigh and leg allowing you freedom of movement and the crotch is cut right, not gangbanger to your knees style or low-rise singing soprano style. I like the material even though it is not 100% cotton it feels really soft I know I mentioned that already but worth mentioning again. The 68/32% cotton/poly material blend may make them it a little bit more durable, less shrinkage, I have not had long enough to find out for sure yet. I would definitely buy these again and prefer them over the regular straight fit Wrangler 5 star 100% ones you can pickup at Walmart.

Tech pocket "sort of" fits my Galaxy S10 with Slim Armor case.
Been wearing these carpenter pants ever since the Faded Glory carpenter pants became unavailable about 7 years ago. They've been good cheap work pants that have worked well for me and not been too big of deal when a pair accidentally gets destroyed. I do have a few issues with them though, specifically with how it seems they keep shrinking the tech pocket down to where many standard phones won't fit anymore.I have visited local wally worlds checking every pair of these pants in my size for probably 6 months, trying to find one that would fit my phone. All of them were way too tight of a fit. I could tell even if I could get the phone around the corner the pocket itself was slightly too narrow.Decided to gamble online and purchased 3 pairs of 40x32 and to my surprise they all fit perfect, doesn't seem to vary from pair to pair. The tech pocket on all 3 was slightly larger than what I had found in the store, but I still had to stretch the opening and pop a couple stitches to comfortably slide my phone in and out of it. One thing I have noticed when these pockets have been a little tight at first, when you are constantly putting your phone in and out of it, it does loosen up with time, so a snug fit to start is not a bad thing. Just wish I didn't have to pop stitches to get it started.I had already contacted the manufacturer about the tech pocket getting too small to fit common smart phones, they said they'd forward it to the product development engineers for consideration, so hopefully in the future we'll see this pocket open up a little more. I don't expect it to fit the big "note" style phones, but an extra 1/4" of width would make a world of difference for most people who love these pants specifically for the good design and placement of the cell pocket... or "tech" pocket. My other issue I brought up with the manufacturer was the pocket liners. They are terribly thin and it doesn't take long for my keys to start poking holes thru the bottom. At least I can fix it by folding over the bottom of the pocket and stitching it up, but it would really be nice if the material was a little better like what you get in Carhartts. These are cheaper than the Carhartts, but not by that much. I definitely prefer the cell phone pocket design in the Wranglers. Carhartt's cell pockets like 1/2" wider, but too shallow. The top of my phone pokes out and there's nothing to keep the phone from falling out if I'm working on the ground or even just reclining on a couch. Glad I found some Wranglers that will work, and 3 identical pairs too!

Poor Quality Control!
I ordered a 33 waist for my husband. The pants I got were labeled 33W 32L. However, the waist actually measures 45 inches. The legs are huge! My husband could fit in one leg and I in the other! So beware of seller and poor quality control. No time to reorder before our trip :-(
