Robust, informative, excellent review for medical boards
I am a peeker. When I tested for the PANCE and PANRE during my review I had to do the entire case start to finish then look at how I did, otherwise I would sneak a peek of the next answer. Well that does not work if you get off on the wrong foot and go down the wrong path. The book itself does not have all the answers included, but that is a plus, trust me. Weighing in at over 400 pages, if the answers were included it would probably be over 1000, and the cost through the roof as well. As is the answers are included in the online component that you get access to with a code in the front of the book. Does that prevent resale? Yes. Are you going to want to let this book out of your sight ever though? No. The cases are something you will see in the real world. The progression is textbook, as would be expected on medical/PA/NP/nursing boards. The rationale well explained. The information is up to date and cites sources. I suspect in the future should things change too quickly, the publisher may update the answers on the site without needing to change the book/vignettes. We are in a digital age, and the digital component of this book was easy to access ( I had to start from scratch with no Springer account and it took a minute) and worked well when accessing the site on my tablet. Further more, each section is under a tab, so you can go section by section, without accidentally seeing what the next section of answers entails. This is perfect for the way I review for PANRE. Regardless of your study style I suspect this book would be an excellent addition, for a very reasonable price.

Comprehensive, practical, and a potential great review book for board exams
101 Primary Care Studies by Sampath Wijesinghe is a compilation of invaluable clinical cases written by the professionals in the industry including the author himself. The clinical cases are very interesting to read. They are descriptive, and each case is somewhat unique. I teach mostly healthcare students in mastering their basic sciences. But I purchased this book to guide me with what specific basic skills must students acquire in order to face their next level of education, the clinical and bedside skills. Boy, did I get so happy to read this book targeted at a broad spectrum of healthcare students. This book is good for all: the nursing students, PA, NP, and also medical students. I also highly recommend this book to the educators of clinical sciences because you do not have to go anywhere else to find clinical cases, which are many here, contemplate what questions to make out of them, or build competencies. It is all there. I believe this is a brilliant book, deserve to be a required reading in all healthcare (clinical) specialties, and best of all, the students and teachers can use it in different clinical rotations.

Must have a practical resource for any student in the medical field
As a family medicine practitioner, I must say this book is an excellent primary care guide. The book’s purpose to promote evidence based and art of medicine is admirable.I did a few cases from different organ systems (Cardiology, Pulmonary, GI etc.). I read the presentation including history and physical exam and answered the questions on the hard copy. I really like the idea that they don’t include answers on the hard copy. Even though I was tempted, I didn’t look up the online answer key until I was completely done. It was great to see the comprehensive answer key and compare my answers with what happened with the each case. Each case includes real outcome of the actual case and insight from primary care providers. Those insights from physicians, NPs, and PAs are so fascinating to read. Knowing that these cases were real, I really have a desire to learn. This book is unique and so practical. I highly recommend this book to anyone in the medical field.

Great Review/Self-Study Tool for New FNP Graduate
This is exactly the kind of resource I was looking for as an FNP student (and recent graduate). I am able to formulate a plan of care for each case and then use the online answers to check my answers and gain clinical pearls/check for knowledge gaps. The cases provide a nice variety of diagnoses, and the book is extremely well-written and researched. Each case gives additional pointers re: patient education, therapeutic communication and consequences of inappropriate diagnoses/management. Highly recommended for self-study for new primary care practitioners!

Excellent scenarios and great book to help hone clinical thinking skills.
This case study book is wonderfully put together. The case studies are exactly like what you’d see in the clinic. As a student, I really appreciate all the questions as prompts. I’m able to come up with differential diagnoses for ruling in or out, as well as what diagnostics I’d want to order. I would highly recommend this book to an NP/PA or med student. It offers a wide array of different case studies, that reaches pretty much every body system.

Great Resource for Medical Students!
As a first year medical student, this book is a great resource to become familiar with a wide range of possible patient cases. The cases are presented in a clear and straightforward manner with easily digestible explanations. I think that aspiring physicians and healthcare professionals will greatly benefit from going through the cases and refining their approach to solving them while learning from the explanations and filling in their gaps in knowledge. However you choose to use this book, there's always something to learn from and use to grow as a healthcare provider. Highly recommended!(This review was written by a friend)

to get access to answers after completing the question
I have not been able to get answers to questions. I have ordered many books and never had the difficulty getting access. The book is useless if I cannot get access to answers. I have registered ,put I the code and yet no results. If this was not be an issue. The book would serve my purpose.

It's as if I'm there in the exam room!
When I discovered this book on social media and read through a preview, I knew I had to have it! The scenarios are REAL LIFE scenarios that any primary care provider has/can/will witness and have to work through. This book provides (literally) 101 scenarios and causes the provider to really think through what's going on and how to treat, not only from a medical standpoint but also from a psychosocial. I HIGHLY recommend this text for both the student and the experienced provider.
