Excellent Wallet, Just a tad big
I purchased this wallet instead of a typical style wallet because I like having my stuff secure which a regular wallet typically just is not. I also like the fact this is made out of a more durable material that I expect will last me many years. The zippered pouch inside of the billfold area comes in handy for storing cash or other items you want to keep especially secure. The shark bite closure design is very simple and seems to be very effective. One thing to keep in mind is that this is a large wallet to carry around with typical clothes. If you are in the armed services it easily fits in to BDU pockets, but regular jeans or shorts will accomodate this but not with much more room. It is also a little akward to open if you are used to a regular style wallet just because of the design and the size. I do like that it has two clear pockets for ID and makes it easy to show ID without opening the wallet. I cannot imagine needing the full size version of this as an EDC wallet for a civilian. Made in the USA!!! Overall very happy with it even if it is a bit on the large size for everyday use. I would rather have a larger size and have this durability and security than a typical mens folding wallet. Will buy again when it wears out. Which might be a while. I just wish it came in OD green. The front plastic window had some black smudges inside of it from something when I bought it. No big deal though. I do kind of wish the logo inside was smaller. ** 07/12/2013 update ** I have to update this review and raise it to 5 stars. After I have grown accustomed to the larger size of this wallet compared to the one I used to have, and also accustomed to the way it opens I have really fallen in love with this design. It has been very secure and very well thought out. I love the zippered cash compartment that is virtually a secret to the unfamiliar and I love the shark bite closure. I just hope I can buy another one when this wears out... a long time from now.

Compared to T.H.E. Wallet Mini
First I bought the mini version of this wallet. When I found out that all my stuff wouldn't fit, I bought the bigger one. So after I got the JR and before I sent back the Mini, I had a chance to compare and take pictures of them both. This review's purpose is to highlight the differences between the two wallets for people like me who are deciding between them. They're both made of the same cloth, which is stitched well and looks pretty sturdy. And they're not that far apart size-wise. The main difference is their orientation. The Mini holds your cards vertically, and the JR holds them horizontally. The Mini wants to ride in my back pocket vertically, with the opening at the top. The JR feels best with the opening toward the side. Coming from a standard leather bifold wallet, the first difference I noticed when I got the Mini was the single compartment for bills. I am used to a divided compartment; one side for money and the other side for receipts. The JR has a divided compartment and one side will zip shut if you like. On both models, each card slot can comfortably hold 2 cards (or 3 if you don't mind having to work a little to extract them). The biggest difference between the two, and the reason I didn't keep the Mini, is the card storage. The Mini has 4 slots while the JR has five. The JR also has a slot behind the inner ID window for more cards, a slot underneath the 5 main ones, and a little zippered compartment that's perfect for a couple guitar picks or maybe a pack of matches. So although the Mini is a good wallet, it's not able to fit all the goodies and accouterments of my life. Good thing they make the JR.

Best wallet I've ever had, LOVE IT
I've had mine for at least 5 years. I bought this myself, and another for my dad. I've had at least a dozen wallets that have fallen apart... not this one. It is indestructable - I've had mine for 6 years daily use with minimal apparent wear - my other wallets usually last a year or so. This one hits the sweet spot... has a little zippered change area, a zippered section for paper money (I put my big bills in there away from "lookers", and my smaller bills in the open section). When it gets dirty, I run it through the wash in a zipped closed pants pocket and it comes out clean again. Very sturdy, well designed for 5 or 6 cards, some cash, and a few ID cards. It fits easily in a pair of jeans (I had the other size... not the JR and it was large, I would only get the standard, non "J.R." model if you are carrying your passport in it). I find the "shark bitte" design stays closed for me, and is easy to open even one handed if necessary.

A very well made wallet with a few flaws
Before buying the Spec-Ops T.H.E. Wallet Jr., I had been using the same wallet for about 20 years. I've had my eye on all the Spec-Ops wallets for a while now, and when I decided that it was finally time to replace my old and trusted wallet I went with Spec-Ops. I've been using the T.H.E. Jr wallet for almost 2 months now, and overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase. I wanted a smaller wallet because 1) I don't have many credit/debit cards so I don't need 25 slots for cards & other stuff, and 2) I have problems sometimes with my back. When a disc gets herniated, sitting down with a wallet in my back pocket is TORTURE, so I needed/wanted something with a small enough profile that it wouldn't cause me any/much physical discomfort when sitting on the wallet. The Spec-Ops T.H.E. Wallet Jr fit my needs & requirements. I like this wallet, but it definitely has flaws. If they were fixed the walled could be so much better. Now, on to the review. The physical construction of the wallet is great. There were no loose/hanging threads when I opened the bag and took out the wallet for the first time. It isn't double stitched, but it looks tough and sturdy. This sounds silly/stupid, but it took me almost a week to figure out how to close the wallet (there aren't any directions/instructions in the bag). When open, (looking left to right) on one end is a see-through pocket and on the other side it has 2 holes for stringing a cord through (if you want to carry the wallet on your neck). There is 3โ of extra material that make up a flap at the right end of the wallet with 2 small fold points. To securely close the wallet, you first fold/close the wallet it as you would for any other bi-fold wallet (folding in the middle). Then you fold the flap back over the body of the wallet, and finally you tuck the tongue of the flap into a pocket made for securely closing the wallet. I posted pictures of this so it may make more sense. Getting credit cards and other things into T.H.E. Jr can at times be tough to do. To say that cards fit snugly in this wallet is an understatement - it can be downright HARD to get cards into (and out of) parts of the wallet. I used the outside see through pocket for my driverโs license, which I love. I can just pull out my wallet and show my DL without having to take it out. Since this is a bi-fold style wallet, the inside of the Spec-Ops THE Jr is broken up into a left and right side (if you are using it traditionally and not wearing it around your neck). On the left side is a see-through pouch, a zippered pouch behind the see through one, and more space under these 2 pouches. On the right side are 5 slots for credit cards, with 2 spaces under the card slots for additional storage. The area for cash has a zippered pouch that runs the full length of the wallet. I like the wallet, but as I said earlier it could be better. The 1 key issue I have with T.H.E. Jr wallet is that the wallet is juuuuuust a bit too small/tight in certain places, which makes it impossible to put a credit/debit card/anything in those spaces. As I said before, there are 5 main slots for credit cards, but I can only get cards into the bottom 3 spots. Spot 4 & 5 are impossible to get a card into. As a matter of fact, the 5th spot is hampered by what I can only describe as a design flaw. The top edge of the cash slot tapers down INTO the 5th card slot, making it impossible for a credit card to fit (see picture). I find it incredibly hard to believe that nobody at Spec-Ops noticed this, so it kinda irritates me to think that they know about this issue and havenโt fixed it. The other spaces for putting things into also suffer from this spacing issue. I should be able to fit store coupon cards or business cards into these places, but I canโt. If there was 1/16 more space it would be a perfect wallet! If I had more credit/debit cards then Iโd probably give the Spec-Ops T.H.E. Jr wallet 3 stars due to the spacing issue, but since I only have 3 cards Iโll give it a 4.

Durable. I'm replacing mine after nearly 20 years of daily use.
Great wallet, long lasting. I love the inner zipped pocket, where I always kept a $50 for emergencies. Outer ID clear pocket is very useful for putting hotel keys as well as your ID. It's a little big, but really not the end of the world. Just bought a new one, attached are pics of the old one I bought about 2007, has lasted nearly 20 years. The outer ID window finally gave up the ghost after daily use. If you look closely, you can see the hotel card poking out the edge.

Small enough yet practical
So I've been hitting up the trails quite a bit and realized, there has GOT to be a better way to tote my wallet contents then letting them loose in my pockets hoping that they'll still be there after my hike. My husband purchased the original T.H.E. Wallet and I had a bit of wallet jealousy brewing at that time. Granted his wallet is large and was made for travelling (passport pockets and such), I still envied the durability and the shark-bite enclosure system. My lovely Prada wallet doesn't exactly cut it for outdoorsy activities, and I would go nuts having to listen to the noisy Velcro closure of other throw-down wallets every time I have to retrieve money. This is when I stumbled across T.H.E. Wallet J.R. This is exactly what I was looking for! It's subtle but straight and to the point. No frills and pretty colors. The five credit card slots hold your plastic in snugly so I don't have to worry about anything falling out. There are two ID windows, one zippered pocket with enough room for a little bit of change, two pockets behind the visible card pockets, and a large bill pocket with another zippered bill pocket for concealment. And I LOVE the Shark-bite enclosure! Even with all this storage, it still folds small enough to fit in my back pocket without George Costanza-ing it. I highly recommend this for anyone needing something rugged but not crazy-bulky.

Spec-Ops Brand T.H.E. Wallet J.R. - Great product
This is another great and inexpensive product from the guys at Spec-Ops. I was looking for a slightly larger wallet than the Hazard 4 to upgrade my EDC. This is a large wallet, however it easily fits into your back pocket while being able to hold a large amount of items. The best feature is the 'shark-bite' closure system. The worst thing about wallets like the Hazard 4 is that they use Velcro co keep the wallet closed. When you hear that 'RRRRRIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPP' everyone knows you are opening a wallet, not the ideal situation for urban environments or travel. This wallet closes easily and opens easily as well. Furthermore Spec-Ops guarantees their products for the lifetime of the product, basically if it is defective in any way they will either fix it or replace it. It is made high quality Cordura 1000D Nylon and 420 D nylon pack cloth and is double stitched for durability. Also there is a full size security pouch in the money compartment which can comfortably fit larger bills you might not want to carry with your smaller ones. Overall great wallet and had become a main part of me EDC

Couldn't be happier (with a wallet, that is)!
Like most guys I believe, I'm not one for changing wallets very often. When my well-worn leather trifold finally reached the point of no return, I dug out those two new leather wallets I had lying around, that I'd previously received as gifts. After trying to literally force all of my cards, IDs, pictures, an other paraphernalia into each of those standard-sized wallets, I had to admit that I needed to either carry less, or get something bigger. I went for the bigger. After some online research, including reviews about the longevity of the Spec-Ops wallets, I decided that leather was just an old habit, and that Cordura fabric and nylon made much more sense for my needs. I was immediately impressed with the overall quality and apparent sturdiness of this product. The first thing I liked was that both my driver's license and (retired) military ID could easily slide in and out behind the 2 non-glare windows. There are plenty of slots for all of my numerous credit-sized cards, and well as additional zippered compartments for yet more cards, spare change, hidden cash stash, papers, pictures, or whatever. Plus the "shark-bite" closure ensures that everything remains safe and secure. I have always carried my wallet in my front pocket and will admit that the larger dimensions of T.H.E. Wallet J.R. did seem a bit daunting at first. But after just a couple of days, and as the wallet began to mold a bit, I really haven't noticed any difference. I am very happy with this purchase and look forward to perhaps never needing another wallet. In that regard, please let me know if you'd like a leather trifold. I have a couple I don't plan on using.
