Sue SpargoCreative Stitching Templates - Six Piece Set, ''Spoke Easy''

I was pleased with the quality of these templates. Polished edges inside that do not snag on the thread like the cheaper ones.

First every thing by Sue Spargo is great. I wasn't sure about buying this item as it seemed a little expensive to me, but this item is worth it. The set of templates makes dividing circles easy. Once you find a center point you can divide any shape you want. There are 6 templates for dividing circles in 5-10 segments. It has grids for circles up to 1.5" in diameter. If you want to divide a larger circle use the largest template and a ruler to extend the segment lines out to the edge of your circle (shape). I use these for embroidery in embroidering whipped and woven circles and for drawing my own designs on fabric and paper, but they can be used for so much more. I highly recommend this item.

It is amazing how such a little tool can be so useful! These templates comes in varying sizes and help your embroidery be even and consistent when working. I purchased a set from somewhere else and loved them so much I bought this set for a friend. A wonderful investment and very durable and well made.

So I am mixed on these - I struggle making even spokes on woven wheel roses if I free hand draw them on fabric or my iPad so picked these up. I draw a lot of patterns on my iPad so I was bummed when the Apple Pencil would not work with these, but thought I can just draw a circle on my iPad and then use the template to draw the spokes in that circle once I am actually transferring the design to fabric. Unfortunately I use pilot friXion pens to transfer designs most of the time and these templates are too thick to use these pens - the pen won’t touch the fabric. I also tried a water soluble marker and it also would not reach the fabric. I’m unsure what marking tool will actually work with these and reach the Fabric, but there must be something out there which works - I just have not found it yet. While the quality is great with how thick these are, it really limits what you can use to trace. Something else perplexing about these is that there are templates with an even number - I’m not sure what those would be used for. I did not deduct stars for this reason because I knew going in I would receive the even numbered templates that would be useless to me. It’s also a wonder why there is not a 3 spoke template - but again I knew this going in. The star deduction is just for how difficult it is to use these with common transfer tools - again these templates have been unusable to me so far until I can find something that will reach the fabric. I’m going to try a chalk pencil next that is retractable - maybe if I make the chalk long enough it will work.

The disks are very hard and sturdy. They have a piece of tan paper on them which I am almost certain you should pull off because of the lettering on the disks. In order to read the letters you need to remove the paper. They don’t come with any type of instructions. I have not gone on YouTube to look for a video on how to use them. I guess they’re easy to use but I haven’t yet.

I like the product. However I received 2 Number 9s, missing Number 8.
