Very nice ding-dong
We live in a moderate size home and the standard one chime doorbell mounted in the foyer does not sound long or loud enough to be heard throughout the house. We were using a 22 year old extender system (made by Heath) and the receivers started dying one by one. I purchased this system with 2 SL-7396 wireless doorbell kits - one for the upstairs and one for the basement. This core system SL-7357 was easy to install and works great. I had to call Customer Service to get the SL-7396 units to synch up with the extender. They were extremely helpful and patient with me while I synched up the units. I did not see anything about synching in the manual, but Customer Service says it's in the 'trouble shooting' questions. I like the chime 2 chime options: one ding or Westminster Chimes which is what we use because it has a longer ring time and can be heard better throughout the home.I must add that I placed the microphone right into the doorbell chime box close to the metal chime, but not touching it.Range is good up to the bedroom and down to the basement. The other chime is located in our kitchen - about20 feet from the doorbell. My only complaints: The plastic casing for the packaging is too tight and really hard to get off - I had to use scissors which is always dangerous. The other complaint is the instructions where the font/print is way too small. I have pretty good eyes, but has to use a magnifier to read them. Since the instructions fold up into the package, they could easily use bigger print and maybe eliminate some of the foreign languages.

Best Clothes Dryer Alert Available and Virtually No Installation
I was looking for a way to hear when the clothes dryer was done so my shirts and dress pants didn't sit there and wrinkle. This did the trick. My dryer has a buzzer but we could never hear it upstairs on the main floor. To remedy this I put the transmitter (part you'd put next to doorbell chime) on the top of the dryer control (held in place with double-stick tape) and then I put the plug in chime in an outlet on the second floor. Now, when the dryer buzzes this chime rings and we know it is time to pull out the clothes. This thing is awesome and we only have to replace the batteries in the transmitter 2x a year. The sensitivity on the transmitter is adjustable as well. I bought another receiver that plugs in the wall and was able to program it to work with the same receiver so now I have 2 chime units (one on main floor and one on 2nd floor).PROS:- works great for dryer done alert- batteries last a long time in the transmitter- the plug in chime module can plug in any open outlet- works from my basement to 2nd floor- you can buy another chime receiver and program it to work with the same transmitter- volume on chime units is adjustable- have never had a false alert- uses 4 AAA standard batteriesCONS:- no notification of low battery for transmitter (just replace batteries 2x year and you should be good)

WARNING! Needs two second sound on original chime/bell to work!
Sorry, but this didn’t work for me. I have the typical two door chime with a ding/dong for one door and a simple ding for the other. So this extender was installed to better hear upstairs. Alas, no dice as the test button works fine, but no sound when next to chime. The sender is not connected, but works with a small microphone. Great idea, but after calling service (quick and nice help) I’m informed the unit needs a full two second sound to pick up a signal and activate the remote. So, I read the manual and the Amazon description again thinking I missed it. Not to be found anywhere....So, unless you have an old fashioned bell or loooong duration sound, this will not work.

Works.....but only intermittently
Fairly easy to install but the plug in chime extender unit only works intermittently. Also, it doesn’t really “chime”. It just goes DING. You have to push the doorbell about 3 times before the extender actually chimes (dings). I may return it if I can’t get it to work properly. UPDATE: I had my hubby look at it and he was able to get the Westminster chime to work. However, it still only chimes intermittently when the doorbell is rung.

Very poor performance.
The sensitivity of its pickup microphone is very poor. I took it out of the unit and placed inside the primary door bell box, yet it intermittently works even with the sensitivity set at its highest level. Website states it has three selectable sound settings, but it emits only one sound. So I bought a similar unit from Home Depot and set it up exactly as the one I received from Amazon and that one is working very well.

I was leery of how well this would work but...
This works so well that I am still not believing it. When we bought the new house I should have had the builder wire a second front door chime on the rear patio. It never crossed my mind. We live in South Florida and the builder installed all impact resistant windows and doors. The glass and frames are so thick and heavy that even when the lawn service is outside cutting and trimming, you can hardly hear them. With that said the door bell was impossible to hear when the sliding glass doors are closed and you are on the patio. I researched wire door bell extensions and for nd this little device. Knowing that if it didn't work Amazon would take it back. This thing works way better than I expected it to. Now I never miss someone at the front door if I'm out back on the patio. The only thing I find funny is that builder has been back to tweak a couple of things here and there. When the workers are making a lot of noise with hammers or whatever, the device picks up that sound and rings the patio chime non stop. LOL. No big deal. I find it funny.

Great idea
We have a wired doorbell that we really love but cannot hear the chime when we are downstairs. I love that we can just plug the extender in and hear when someone is at the door. Affordable and reliable
