I bought both these and the THRLEGBIRD brand here on Amazon. I have to say that these are far superior for my needs, and I’ll be buying more. The padding is much thicker on these than the other brand. The soft, mesh fabric is way more stretchy and breathable than the tight, plasticy non-breathable material of the other brand. The waist is higher on these and stays comfortably in place as opposed to the stiff banded, mid-rise waist that folds over on the other brand. My butt still gets a bit sore after really long rides, but not nearly as bad as with the other brand. It does feel a little bit like I’m wearing a diaper, but I will take that over being in pain. You can see the outline of the padded area in my photo. For reference, I normally wear size 14 pants and I got these in 2x. I noticed some of the other reviews complaining about not enough crotch padding, but I did not experience any issues with the crotch padding. That is normally not a trouble spot for me, even without any padding. If you have butt pain from riding your bike, try these.

Have had some recent tailbone discomfort. Wearing these shorts makes sitting for extended periods of time much more comfortable.

I tried these bike shorts as an experiment. I have a very sore tailbone and tend to sit a lot. I have pillows in every chair yet I still have the same problem. while wearing these shorts I can finally find relief! Kind of an unusual use for the shorts, right?

Fit is true to size and leg openings are relatively short which is terrific. They don’t ride up and have lots of cushion where you need it! I generally go for 20-25 mile rides on a gravel bike. However I also use these undershorts for my indoor bike to enjoy studio style rides and these seem to work great for both indoor and outdoor. I bought another pair after trying the first ones out!

I ride occasionally and far enough to need the extra padding about 30 to 40 miles. The fit was good and I could ride a little further. No problems after washing the shorts. Did not put the shorts in the dryer only air dried. The sizing was good.

Used in combination with a padded seat cover leaves me in no pain. Phew, cause the alternative is not very nice and I personally find it incredibly difficult if not impossible to make it through a spin class without padding protection. I do not know what it is like to use these shorts without also using a padded seat cover, but I do know the only place I feel that is lacking - is the padding on the front...it really needs more in proportion to how well padded the back is. It’s unfortunate, because if they were better padded there, these would be perfect.

I ordered medium as advised (5’3” 130 lbs usually a small) and they fit nicely. I needed to compare foam positioning so I ordered four different pants. These have foam in the bum and more in the front than I need, while completely lacking in the narrows which is my trouble area. I ride in the drops and those gap bones get sore. By contrast the pink Thrlegbirds have more through the gap. It all depends on shape - padding is nice density, material is nice. I am returning these because they don’t match my anatomy.
