These were a gift for my daughter who is a hairdresser in Texas. She loves them! She says they arrived sharp and ready to use. Says they are holding an edge beautifully, and is planning on purchasing several more pair in different sizes.

Very nice and well made shears, quite sharp and good quality steel capable of taking an edge well. I ordered these because the shears I got recently are 5" and too tiny for my preference. The 6" shears allow me to cut just a little more hair at a time which helps me turn clients around quicker. I am very meticulous and tend to take a long time when cutting, so any tool that can help me go a little faster is welcome.As for the construction of the shears, the tension screw works very well and the shears feel well balanced in my hand, not too heavy nor do they pull on either side of my thumb or fingers, but feel properly weighted and even. Overall they are pretty lightweight while still feeling like solid, good quality hair shears that will last.I did see a review stating that if you wanted to cut more than human hair, invest in better shears. I would disagree with this greatly. Human hair does not damage the blade of your shears as quickly as synthetic products, which are fibrous plastics much tougher on your blade. If you have super high-end shears, I would not waste their sharp edge cutting synthetic hair as you'll be sharpening them far more frequently and thus creating more wear on your blade. Any time I cut synthetics, I pull out inexpensive shears and cut with those instead. If you are looking to cut synthetic hair, I would feel these are a great option since they are below $100 and can take an edge many times. This is a far more financially sound option rather than purchasing several hundred dollar or thousand-dollar shears and wearing those down instead.Overall I think these are great for students, travel, basic shear work, and cutting any type of hair you have coming into your shop whether human or synthetic. They're comfortable to hold and easy to adjust, too. Recommended.

I am a master designer i do a lot of everything i wanted a cheap pair to cut weaves and other odd hair related jobs the first time i use them they cut but the third and fourth time they seem to be like all other shears. But they did work for a while. If you are doing anything other than human hair then invest in a better pair
