Great Cake Decorating: Sweet Designs for Cakes & Cupcakes

This is a nice book with great decoration tips! I don’t care how long I’ve been doing this it’s always good to have a refresher and new ideas. The condition of the book was new!

Nice book for decorating. Most of the decorations are in fondant, which I guess makes sense since most decorated cakes are done with fondant. I just wish I could find a fondant that I like the taste of, so I could try more of these designs.

Erin's book is so much fun! I am an experienced cake designer and I bought the book because I can never have enough great information when it comes to cake decorating. Erin is so thorough in her instructions! The pictures are wonderful and the book makes me want to decorate cakes! This book is a perfect fit for anyone who is just starting out in cake design or for the experienced designer like myself! This is one book that needs to be on your shelf for a in-depth guide to all that is cake and design! BRAVO to you Erin!

This book was okay. I just bought it to get more ideas for my cake decorating. It has some good ideas but again it spends the beginning of the book going over all the stuff you need recipes blah blah

I was so excited about this book until I read it. It is lacking pictures. There are some really great photos but it would have made the book 1000 times better I there were more. The content I good. I wanted a step by step directions with photos. Disappointed.

It's more for a beginner cake decorator. It doesn't have a whole lot of photos but there are recipes and step by step tutorials but not photo tutorials. The cakes itself doesn't look like a professional did it. They're not that perfect. You can see some bumps on the covered fondant and they don't have sharp edges. Advanced cake artist will know what I'm talking about.

I have loved Erin's work for several years. This is beyond my skill level, but I so enjoyed reading it.

I think the book is simple to understand. It explains techniques for cake decoration in an easy to read way. I think there is better ideas in other books for cakes but thus is a great book fir teaching the basic techniques to get you started.

This book looked promising but when I got my copy I have to admit to being a tad disappointed. Don't get me wrong - there are a few good tips but what is lacking is the full explanation for certain techniques. For instance, rolling up strips of fondant - without something to roll it onto this technique can result in cracked and torn fondant - so wrapping round an acrylic rolling pin, for e.g. would, in my opion, offer more help to the inexperienced cake decorator. Also there is an obvious ommission in the tools used and the resources section could offer a better guide as to what products can be obtained from the listed suppliers.

This is an interesting book, with some nice recipes. There are some quite nice designs and techniques. Interesting to look at, and worth having a look at - having said that it would not be my MUST have book, I have others that I treasure more.

I really love it, and it's very easy to follow the instructions. I'm looking forward to my first chjallenge as a cake artist.

Maybe this book would be more suited to a learner of the art of cake decorating - it has very easy projects
