Pliers - Xuron Combination Tip 489

If you have used a cheap knock off tool and then tried a Xuron, you will throw away the cheap knock offs and always look for the Xuron. They work, do not deform or bend, the grip feels right in your hand

When I saw these at the Xuron booth at the National Train Show they intrigued me... a small round tip against a wide flat tip. The booth rep said she wasn't sure exactly what they were for. So I ordered a pair to play around with for electronics and HO model building. What I discovered was that they are a perfect solution to bend small diameter plastic pieces without breakage or distortion. The problem using two round tips is the two high pressure points they apply to the soft plastic, resulting in indentations that weakens the plastic, usually fatally. The flat face greatly reduces pressure points, and helps control the bend with less indents. My observation is that these are brilliant for shaping soft materials.Tip dimensions: flat anvil is about 0.85 wide along length; round tip is oval shaped, 0.020 x 0.035 inch right at the end broadening out to 0.10 x 0.12 inch with the narrow dimension vertical to the flat anvil. Looking end-on, the tips look like "(] <>". Both surfaces are essentially flush together when closed, maybe 5mil of a gap.

I have other round nose pliers but love the way these feel. I can get into smaller places and make smaller loops when I wire wrap with these. Love-love-love the round on one side and flat on the other. So glad I got them!

Fantastic for making super tight loops without deforming them. Super handy tool when wire wrapping stones and jewelry. Comfortable to hold and good quality.

I make jewelry, wire wrapping and wire weaving and these pliers are awesome! A jeweler's best friend! These are not a necessity for a jeweler's tool box, but I highly recommend these because they are excellent pliers for jewelry making and because they are Made in the USA! I bought the bent nose pliers, long nose pliers, flat nose pliers and the combination pliers and I will be buying more! I'll never purchase another brand again. And the price is very reasonable and affordable! If you make jewelry, Xuron is the brand you want!

There are many tools and toys for jewelers, but the best tools are the ones that feel right and work perfectly. These make the smallest, smoothest loops of any pliers and are comfortable enough to let me use them for hours. Wish I had found them about 20 sets of pliers ago - my work bench would be much tidier (I just can't toss out a tool that isn't broken). Now I'll look for Xuron tools first.

The tips are fine, just like they look. I bought them because my pliers are much coarser, heavier duty.I'm still getting used to them and realize that I need to use them for the finer jewelry wire projects; not just to make finer loops, but because the heavier wire needs a heavier gauge hinge.

Excellent for making loops of consistent size for jewellery making Can make tiny loops. But have to be careful pinching metal as it may mark.I swear by Xuron pliers for Jewellery making

I ordered these thinking they were like tweezers but one side is flat. I made the mistake not reading. They are still working for me when I wire though so at least they are useable.

Really happy I came across these pliers, they are perfect for what I need them for. And made in North America!
