A Young Person’s Guide to Knowing God

This is a wonderful book to go through with your kids. The stories are well written and simplify the verse in which the story is based on. My 11 year old boy said he looked forward to our time with this book. Very easy to connect with the content. This purchase was actually my second one as I was buying an extra copy for a friend to use with her family.

This books is great! It has a bunch of short stories that illustrate spiritual truths, but they are not heavy-handed and they are well-written, so it's a pleasure to read. The stories really stick with you--both my husband and I recognized one we had heard about 10 years ago. Highly recommended as a read-aloud devotional for your family. You'll learn truths in a new way even as you pass them along to your children.

Love it! We use it as a nightly devotional with our children. Patricia St. John was an amazing author and storyteller.

We love the short stories and the way Patricia guides the reader through the moral lesson to be learned it each one. The questions about the story are excellent ways of sharing with our children similar experiences in our own lives.

We just started our last and final year of the 5 year cycle with My Father's World for our homeschooling. This was one of the bible books and so far we have really enjoyed it - great stories and examples.

My kids and I love this book. The stories are short, interesting, and give deep, insightful lessons. One of our favorite devotionals ever.

My children are in their teens. They really liked this devotional. We read it in our evening devotions. They especially liked the stories. As a parent I appreciated the discussion questions. Highly recommend this book. We're sorry that we only have a couple chapters left. Looking for another Patricia St. John devotion. Her other books have been enjoyable as well.

This book is a gem for children and adults alike!An excellent gift for any 8-13 year old who loves the Lord and also for new Christians. And also a great resource for Children's WorkersPatricia St. John is a superb story teller in the old school. She manages, in only 2 or 3 pages, to not only have you hooked by her story telling - but also to instruct in the basics of being a Christian in the process!

This is a collection of short stories each of which help build understanding of what the God of the Bible is like and how He wants us to live. Great for young people (about age 10 upwards) and for the not-so-young too! I've bought quite a few copies over the years to give to people because I think it's so good.

I read an early edition of this book, in the 1960's, and am so glad I did. Ideal to pass on to young people, to help them make up their own minds about some life changing issues.
