Not as pictured
What i received is not what is pictured. It has no Tecumseh name on it anywhere and looks just like the ones that are half the price. Bummer

A bit pricey for a starter that obviously fits multiple applications, but it was easy to install and works.

Where's the Tecumseh label?
The picture has a big "Tecumseh" label and it's described as a Tecumseh starter, but the product received doesn't have the Tecumseh identification. It fit just fine and worked the one time I had to use it, but I thought I was getting a factory part and it doesn't look like I did. It may turn out just fine but now I am leery

Is it factory original? Who knows... but it works
I paid about 50% more for the Tecumseh logo on this part. If you really need that generator to start, you don't want to screw around with something jury rigged to work. The good news- it does bolt right on to my 20 year old generator. Maybe the design changed in the last two decades as this part has holes for 6 bolts as opposed to my 4 holes but it does snug right up and sure enough, a couple of tugs on the cord and I was back in business. As I say, I'd have been happier to see the factory logo on it but it wasn't there. Oh well, it's on and working so at the end of the day, I'm satisfied.

Not as pictured- how did I miss all the other reviews that said this?!?
Same as others have stated, no Tecumseh sticker- wanted an OEM part with the branding- I thought that was why this was double the price of others. Hope it holds up- not worth the trouble of sending it back.

still going after many uses
this did not come with the tecumseh sticker. does not self center by just putting bolts through the holes and tightening. you must line up the starter by eye before tightening bolts. this was the same as the $15.00 one we tried first. if you install off center it will turn egg shaped and bind while pulling on rope. very important step. the cheap one we tried first, the handle broke off on the second pull. swapped handles will the fifteen year original. the tenth pull resulted in the internals falling apart. this one is made better. wish we could buy the original part in the factory box. this one is probably the next best thing.
