Fits my old Kenmore
I have an older Kenmore Ultrasoft 180. This valve was a perfect fit. My water softener first filled with water and I could see it was leaking at the valve. I thought it was a washer, but two new ones did not fix the leak. I then noticed that there was a pinhole leak in the bottom or the valve body and I could see a hairline crack in the bottom that I had not noticed previously. This valve solved the problem and I'm back in business.

It worked
Stripped my old one doing maintenance. I have the model in the picture. Just be careful while removing clips. Mine were fine but a lot of people break theirs. It does not come with the clips. Tighten my hoses and no leak.

This fixed my leak and now I don't have to buy a new water softener
After over a month of troubleshooting, and reading numerous reviews, the ones I saw recently were right. I had several leaks. I fixed the first with replacement flex pipe 1"FIP X24" and fixed one but still had one at the Bypass valve. Reviewers said after a couple or more years, and sitting in a hot garage, the bypass valve can become warped and could begin to leak. A new bypass valve fixed the problem. For reference purposes my softener is a Whirlpool WHES30 LE31. My bypass valve has threaded connections and uses a Part number 7129871. This is for the smaller unit and not a high flow one. Hope my info helps someone.

Odd Sized Washers
This valve works well, but beware that the rubber seals (washers) are an odd size and not available at your local big box store.We have a local "hard to find" hardware store that did have the seals, but "Palmers Hardware" is not your average Hardware store. Unlike the big box that 10,000 items of one kind, Palmers has 10,000 one-of-a-kind items.Easy to install, average quality, and fits well.Recommended.
