Very poor magnet force. Im shocked. As i purchased a smaller magnet beforw this. And that brings up items i cant get with this bigger one.

This is the best piece of equipment l've purchased in a long time. A freind of mine lost his ice chisel down a 7.5" ice fishing hole while we were ice fishing, he never thought he'd ever see it again. It was a specially made forked type and he had it for over 45yrs. I saw this magnet complete with over 60' of line, grappling hook and waterproof gloves on Amazon, ordered it to try...what could l lose if it didn't work it's a small price to pay if it didn't. I received it in 5 day. Next time out ice fishing l decided to give it a try...reopened the 7.5" hole he lost it down in over 8' of water and 3' of ice. First it was a no go decided it may just have fell away from that hole so l drilled another 1' away. This time the magnet locked on and up it came. I still couldn't get it throught the 7.5" hole because the chisel was sideway decided to try and grab it using the grapple that came with the kit...it grabbed on, then l told my freind hold it tight against the ice while l pull the magnet off then loosen the hold on grapple slowly hoping the chisel will slide the right way and the grapple will grab onto the tee bar on the top end of the chisel. It worked perfectly and up came the chisel through the 7.5" hole....l've since retrieved a $30 pair of stainless steel pliers a new fishing hole scoop. Its paid for itself. Just a word of caution...once finished using, rub a little oil on it to prevent a bit of rusting build up. I wish l would have video taped my retrevals l didn't bring my cell phone out of fear l'd loose it...the magnet can't pick it up. 😆

LOVED: magnet with eyelet in top, rope was strong and just the right length, gloves were serviceable.NOT SO MUCH: the sharp pointy treble hook, it went to recycling ... we were using with 9-11 year old boys.Our day turned out more eventful than we could have imagined. The boys have been watching YouTube videos about magnet fishing where the Youtubers pull safes and guns from the water. We were talking about how that part was probably faked. Wait for it ... 20 minutes into the outing we pulled up a Smith & Wesson ...Hello 911 ... send your finest to pick this up :-). I’m sure we just had beginners luck. Was still lots of fun, we found a staple, a fish hook and a bottle cap as well. Money well spent. GREAT ENTERTAINMENT VALUE FOR MONEY!
