yes they are, This Brand Kipling is pretty great light weight is perfect for light travel.

Q: Is it too big for airplane carry on limit include the wheel height?

I have not traveled with my Kipling Darcey yet, but I did measure it. And it's exactly the size that is approved...with wheels! Happy me!
