As good as halogen gets
I have these in 2 cars now. One set replaced Philips Extreme Vision +130% with glass patterned lens and the other set replaced Osram Night Breaker Laser +150% with a complex reflector (plain lens). Both are H4 fittings. In both cars, the improvement is noticeable and the dip beam image is sharper. In both cases, the Racing Vision produced a stronger but not simply whiter light. I prefer the light of the Philips as the beam is wider and there is less colour variation between dip and main beam than Osram. I have also done more miles with the Racing Vision than with Night Breaker Laser even though that car has always on dim dip DRLs. That shows Philips bulbs last much longer even though the Racing Vision filaments are run hotter. The caveat is the older car has slightly degraded electrics and only produces 14.0 volts at the bulb compared with the 14.2 volts of the car which ran Osram. They are the best performing bulbs I've tried and are not hugely behind some newer cars which use LED lighting. They illuminate the road very well in dry conditions but obviously not so well in wet conditions. For wet conditions, only LED or HID gas discharge or even LED retro fit projectors are truly satisfactory but the heat produced by halogen bulbs ensures snow melts in winter conditions which maintains lighting performance. That is invaluable in the few days of snowfall which Britain may experience.I recommend these bulbs even though lifetime is reduced for the extra performance but 20k is achievable. The look of my cars have also been improved with Philips LED Pro 6000 sidelight bulbs of white/4000K colour white exactly matches the colour of the Racing Vision headlamp bulbs.

Very nice bright bulbs
Very nice bright bulbs, definitely improves visibility and safety on the road. There are a lot of reviews about their short life - so far, after less than a month of light use, everything is fine. We'll see what happens next.

The H7 that burns twice as bright burns half as long
Excellent bulbs, notably brighter than the stock OSRAMS with a nice warm white colour, arguably the best halogen H7’s available BUT longevity is a problem.I installed ours on Feb 3rd and today (April 17th) one of them has failed - I knew from reviews I wouldn’t see much over six months out of them but 73 days is a lot shorter than I’d anticipated. At £23 a pair, they aren’t a viable long term option with such poor reliability.

More light
Improved night vision with these lamps compared to previous conventional H4 items, helps balance the brightness of oncoming lights from more modern systems

Good value and great performance.
The truth is that I bought these bulbs on the rebound after being seriously disappointed with a pair of LED bulbs. My car is a 1990 Mercedes and it is fair to say that headlight technology has progressed quite a lot in over a third of a century. Night driving had become a bit of a trial. In contrast to the LED bulbs, these were simplicity itself to fit. The performance of the bulbs is much better than the ones previously fitted to the car. There are patches of light and dark within the spread of the light, but the darker sections are nowhere near as bad as the old bulbs. The light pattern is excellent with a fine cut-off and decent spread up the nearside, where one wants it on dipped beam. The colour of the light is easy on the eyes.I recommend them.
