Love these hangers. Say good bye to shoulder bumps for ever. (No more shoulder nipples) These hangers are slim so you can hang more in less space. Love that the velvety covering keeps clothes from sliding off. Great for all kinds of tops. They are strong and easy to use. The hook swivels so you don't have to stress about getting the clothes on a certain way. The black is really nice. I've replaced most of the hangers in my closet with these. Good price. Good product. You just need to get used to not shoving it in the shirts through the neck hole. Don't yank your clothing off of them because they will stay in place and you will stretch out your clothes. These are clingy hangers.

These are great hangers. You will be amazed at how much space you will save when you get rid of your old chunky plastic hangers!!! And these hangers grip your clothes nicely too, so they don’t fall off easily. They look sleek in appearance and they are durable. The large quantity ensures you will have more than enough. These hangers are great for shirts. They are thin and not too wide. Good for a shallow wardrobe and the thin size makes for efficient use in a closet. However, the thin construction would not lend themselves to supporting jackets or heavy clothing.

I mainly wanted velvet hangers because I thought they would be much thinner than the white plastic hangers I was using. I bought a small pack from a store, and they were about half the thickness of the plastic ones. When I decided to replace all of my hangers with velvet, I chose the Amazon Basics because of the great price. To my surprise, these are actually very close to the same thickness of the plastic hangers, maybe 1mm thinner, so that didn’t add up to enough space to fit more garments on the rod. My clothes are slightly less mashed-together though. Unfortunately, I still have clothes spilling over onto my husband’s side. Below, I address a few other topics that I’ve seen mentioned in other reviews and questions. Shedding/Lint I did notice a few hangers that left light colored lint on my dark garments. I think maybe the excess fibers aren’t getting cleaned off during the manufacturing process. Most of the hangers did not shed at all. Rotating Hook The hooks do not seem like they’re meant to rotate. Some of them were slightly crooked, so I had to force them into the right position. They made a popping sound when I turned them, as if they were sealed in place and I broke the seal. The hangers did not break, and still seem to work fine. Non-Slip Ultimately, this is the feature I fell in love with. I had no problems sliding my dresses and shirts/blouses on these hangers. My clothes are mostly smooth materials with generous necklines. I keep my t-shirts folded, but I would imagine it would be difficult to hang t-shirts or other knits with small neck openings. These hangers created a neater, more uniform appearance because all of the clothes stayed perfectly positioned. Everything hangs straight, and nothing is falling off the hangers. Since my clothes are packed in tightly, pulling one garment out would normally cause others to fall off. These hangers have eliminated that problem. Size/Shape The size and shape of these hangers are perfect for my clothes (size 4-6). My old plastic hangers would leave pointy indentions on the shoulders/sleeves of some of my tighter fitting knit garments. Because these have a wider curve at the end that slopes down more, they do not poke out at the sleeves.

I was reluctant to buy another brand's velvet hangers on amazon because reviews mentioned that several hangers came already broken, or broke while attempting to hang a shirt on it for the first time. I noticed these amazon basics hangers and knew I'd want to give them a try, not only for the lower price, but also for the great quality I associate with amazon. All 50 arrived in perfect condition. No breaks, tears in the velvet, or damage. I spent about 30 minutes rehanging my clothes on these and dropped them multiple times in the process and had my cat (and self) step all over them with no problem. The reason I came back to this page today was to order another box of 50. Update 4/21/14: I've been using these hangers for the past 2 months with no issues. I hang dry all of my tops and dresses directly out of the washer, and the wet garments have not affected the velvet on these hangers. Another pro I've noticed is that the metal can be rotated, which is great because my boyfriend can't seem to hang anything in the proper direction, so I just spin the top around and everything faces the same direction in my closet. Update 7/20/14: I've had these for 5 months with not a single issue. Not one broken hanger. I upped my review to 5 stars. Buying another set. I will not stop until everything I own is on one of these. Final update 3/4/15: It's been over a year. Can't tell the new hangers from the old hangers. Boyfriend that hangs garments in the wrong direction is now fiance that hangs garments in the wrong direction. I still swivel the top.

Nice basic hanger that helps clothes from slipping off

I needed new hangers so I decided to go ahead and try the Amazon brand since they're known for their quality, and man, these are great. You'd be surprised with how much space you'll save using these versus the standard, bulky plastic ones. These are very thin and light, and although I only bough one order of 50, they take up about the third of the space of the previous hangers I've had. I'm going to place my second order after writing this review. I had no problems with the condition I received them in. They were packaged neatly in an easy to open cardboard box and the hangers themselves were placed in easy to rip open plastic in two bags of 25 each. They were all facing the same way and put together neatly so it was super easy to just take them out and begin hanging my clothes with them. There was barely any lint or debris on the hangers themselves when I received them or any noticeable defects. I've had them since July of last year and they're still doing great. I drop them all the time because of my clumsiness and I'll admit, there are some currently on the floor right now due to it being laundry day. I've stepped on them on accidentally, I've even laid down on one that was hiding between my comforter and they're still unbent and doing fine. If it was the plastic ones that I had before, it would've broken and stabbed me and I probably wouldn't be alive today to write this. If I absolutely HAD to say something negative about them, it's that you have to remember these are velvet, so if you accidentally drop them on your carpet sometimes (like I do) you might have some fuzz get stuck to them. That's easily solved by getting a lint roller and running it over them a few times though. I haven't really noticed any lint from my clothes rubbing off on them either, so all in all it's definitely a good investment. Also, I know these can't hang folded pants, but amazon has the velvet hangers that have the bottom portion of the hanger as well as those little add on clips. I personally fold my pants, so I like these hangers best. You save money, space, and your closet will look better visually by having slim, uniform hangers as opposed to mismatched, bulky, plastic hangers that break if you step on them and will become worn out and discolored over time. These are sturdy, but don't burden your clothes rack heavily and will hang everything wonderfully. What's even betters is that they're great for those articles of clothing that love to slide off the plastic hangers. The velvet holds them securely so that they won't drop off. No more waking up in the middle of the night scared shitless because you heard something fall inside your closet. That reason alone should have you adding this item to your cart. After using them for half a year, they still look brand new and are still performing wonderfully. These are a wonderful price, the quality is great, and I assure you that using these will definitely make a difference for the better.

Love, love, love these hangers. I have always used the free hangers that you get given in the shops - why pay for it when you get them for free I thought, but how wrong was I! Although they are "AmazonBasics", there is nothing "basic" about them. They look and feel luxurious and you only need to buy them once! After buying a pink AmazonBasics set for my daughter's wardrobe, I knew I had to buy these for my own too. Because they are just fab. The look of my whole wardrobe has changed. I can fit in more clothes because these hangers are so slim and best of all, none of my clothes ever fall off because the velvet magically grips them. My wardrobe looks amazing, all the hangers are the same size and its actually nice to look at! Will be buying another pack because there is now enough space to hang almost 100 hangers in my one wardrobe. The only negative I can find is that the metal hook doesn't turn round, so this could be difficult if you were trying to hang it say for example on your door (90 degrees), but for the rail on your cupboard its fine because you can simply turn the hanger 180 degrees the other way round as there is no logo/branding.
