Blue Plate Light Mayonnaise, 30 Fl Oz Jar (Pack of 6)

Tastes as good as the full calorie mayonnaise. Could not find it at any local grocery stores so I bought it from Amazon. Long expiration dates allow plenty of time to use the 6 squeeze bottles before the use by date expires..

Being raised in deep southern La., I was raised on Blue Plate Mayo. Now that I live up north and must reduce my fat intake, Blue Plate Mayo had become something of the past. Leave it to Amazon to transcend boundaries by making available, not only Blue Plate Mayo, but Blue Plate Light Mayo. I purchased the 6 squeeze bottle pack and now my family & I enjoy Blue Plate Light and we always have some on hand. These squeeze containers are handy in the 'fridge and keep very well unopened in the pantry. If you want a taste of the South's best Mayo, try Blue Plate Light on your next ham or turkey sandwich and you'll taste the difference!

I first ordered the regular Blue Plate mayonnaise after reading how people in the south love it....and now I do, too. When ready to order the next time, I saw that it came in 6-packs of the light mayo, so decided to give it a try. I love, love, LOVE the light version! I have tried the other light popular-brand mayos, but this is the best by far!! Half the calories and fat of the regular, and equally delicious. I'll never be without!

A little pricey but great flavor!!

Tasting the mayo right from the jar reveals a distinct flavor of rancid oil. Over time this stayed the same, the rancid flavor was in the fresh product! Obviously it was manufactured with rancid oil. I made potato salad with this. The other ingredients masked the rancid flavor. I got sick from eating it. I threw out two half jars and 4 full jars of this. I could not in good conscience even give this away.

This mayo is made in NO and I am from there. Can't get it in any stores here in PA.

I liked this mayonnaise. I bought it on the recommendation of America's Test Kitchen who declared it the winner in a taste test. I must say that while I like the mayo better than any other mayo I've ever had, I still like Miracle Whip better. Also, most of the time, I believe, when you use mayo, it doesn't matter so much to the final taste of the tuna or the egg salad or the tomato and cheese sandwich you're making, or anything else that calls for mayo. So, yes, it's very good and in my taste testing I liked it better than the usual mayo I always buy, but it also is more expensive than the regular stuff because I had to pay to have it shipped. I think I won't buy it again because of the shipping fees. If it were available at my grocery store, yes, I would buy it as opposed to the other brands I have always bought.
