OK, this is a beautiful pot. I got it for braising and because it was easy to lift than cast iron... also less expensive than a really good cast iron pan. Made a pork shoulder and it turned out perfect, good seal with the lid, too! My only complaint is the teeny little square knob on the lid. I have terry pot holders and I could not get a secure hold on the lid to check the temp on the meat. It is too small and too close to the lid itself. Had to carefully move the lid cattycorner on the dish and carefully pick it up from the sides with the potholders. Could go bad about 8 different ways. I might make foil slings for the next time or just use a foil cover. Or get a stainless steel braising pan. That said it would also work great without the lid for lasagna, etc.

This is something that's surprisingly difficult to find: a well-made, attractive, heavy STONEWARE baking dish with a matching cover. It is beautifully crafted (yes, it's made in China—but remember that China essentially invented high-quality porcelain and glazed stoneware while Europe and the mid-East were still cooking in crude clay pots over smoky fires). The glaze on the piece I received is excellent and uniform. It is, in short, a terrific addition to my kitchen and table. It's also very attractive visually, with interesting lines and textures.One of the most compelling features is that it has a perfectly-fitted lid. While I haven't experimented with it much, I suspect the lid fits tightly enough to help with basting whatever is cooking inside the baker.Cleanup is a breeze. First time out of the box I managed to come close to burning some sauce onto the baker. I let it cool completely. Then I used a plastic scrubber and some warm water, and the potential problem washed away immediately. The whole thing went into the dishwasher and it looked brand new when it came out.I'd buy this thing again in a heartbeat, and, in fact, I ordered some more pieces in the same line.I hope you'll like yours as much as I like mine. This is CLASSY stoneware!! And, for some things, there's nothing better than stoneware for even cooking. I smell some lasagna around the corner...

I bought this specifically for making a lasagna recipe I found. The pictures submitted were in a pyrex dish and they all were overflowing. I decided it was time to find a deep dish casserole specifically for lasagna and I found this. It was perfect. The dish came out wonderful and not a single bit of it overflowed because it's deep enough to contain it all. It was easy to clean and it's white as it was when I bought it. Great buy!

First one I ordered the lid did not fit well. The replacement is perfect! I appreciate great customer service as well as a great product!

Bought this casserole dish with lid for baking because was reported as oven safe and dishwasher safe. First one started cracking within 3 months. Manufacturer replaced with identical product and it also started to crack in 2-3 months but kept using it thinking maybe it was just cosmetic. Now is leaking grease out of cracks.

The color is a lovely deep red, perfect for the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas family dinners. Well made, no blotchy imperfections in color. Haven’t used it yet, but it appears well made and will be great for lasagna or favorite casserole. Very well packaged to protect from cracks or scratches during transport. I’d recommend to anyone. Would buy again if I needed more than one.

Lid would not sit right. Two corners contacted and it wobbled like a teeter/totter therefore unable to close and seal correctly making item worthless. Returned the same day. Ended up getting a cast iron casserole dish.

Great product. My *only* qualm is that I wanted a bigger interior. I mistakenly thought the dimensions given were the cooking/baking surface. Do note that the dimensions reflect the exterior, not interior!
