Remembrance: A Mediator Novel (The Mediator Book 7)

Meg Cabot Is A Writing Queen
Let me start out with this: Meg Cabot is a pure genius. I've said this in my Proposal review and I'm saying it again. This book was absolutely amazing. So amazing that despite having the book for less than a year, it looks like it's been through hell. That's probably because it has. Dragging it everywhere I went because I was stuck rereading all the swoon-worthy parts all over again. 😍😍😭😭She may have "ended" the series a long time ago but she had no trouble matching the characters' personalities. Suze is still sassy, if not a bit older and mature and she still can kick some ghost butt. A certain character is still swoon-worthy *cough, cough* Jesse *cough, cough* if not even more since this is an "adult" installment. While in the early series we get some sweet and romantic moments between Suze and Jesse, I never felt like it was enough. Especially after *Twilight spoiler* Jesse is alive again, so I really love how we get to see more in Remembrance. We see lots of old characters: some have grown up, some have matured, and some...have...not. And we get some shocks and surprises, that's for sure. I found myself laughing more than a few times. And I must say, Suze and Jesse make a good undercover mediator team. Clue: Dr. and Mrs. Baracus 😏😂. And a certain aspect of the series coming full circle in this book was really cute. Another clue: it involves where they met 😉.A few cute/funny quotes:"He shook his head, then slipped an arm around my shoulders, bringing me close for a hug. 'How can someone so young and so beautiful be so jaded and cynical?''Too much time hanging around with dead people?''I wouldn't doubt it.'""Susannah, I love you, but you are the most frustrating woman in the world. For once in your life, don't argue. Just do it."I kinda sort of stalled at the last chapter because I didn't want it to end. Again. I'm hoping that she'll add more to the series (hey, if she came back 10(?) years after "ending" the series, with a novella and new book, I will never stop hoping). I'm having end-of-series (for now) withdrawal. It's basically spurred me to reread the series again (err, a few more times). And to search for some fanfics (I've found some really good ones btw). 🤗🤗In conclusion, if you read the Mediator series long ago, you MUST, MUST, MUST go read Remembrance (and Proposal first). Even if you were satisfied with how Twilight ended. A must read if you are a fan of Meg Cabot (but start from the beginning of the series!). If you haven't read the Mediator series and are just seeing this because you know me, go read the series!!! I can only say a handful of series make me reread them multiple times, in a row and this is one of them.😍😎

The Perfect Ending to a Beloved Series
When I first found out that this book was coming out, you don't even understand how excited I was. I remember discovering the original Mediator series in an indie bookstore in Monterey, California (like ten minutes from Carmel, where the series is set!) when I was probably twelve or thirteen. I purchased the first book, became obsessed with it, and seriously made my aunt buy the rest of the series for me that same week because I just could not wait to keep reading. I read and reread the whole series over and over again throughout my middle and high school years.Slipping back into Suze's world in Remembrance was like coming home. Truly. I hadn't even realized just how much I missed the witty characters, Suze and Jesse's romance, and of course the fabulous setting. Being an adult installment to the series, this book is definitely sexier than the others. I really enjoyed seeing how the family dynamics between Suze and her stepbrothers have changed now that they have all grown up as well. The murder mystery plot line in the book is done very well. At first, I kind of didn't care about this part, because I seriously just wanted more Jesse time, but I got super sucked in and really loved how the story line played out. Suze definitely got to bring back the ass-kicking, taking no crap part of her personality that is always so funny and entertaining. She calls ghosts 'non-compliant deceased persons', which I thought was just hilarious.I have so many FEELINGS about this book, and at the same time can't really seem to get them down in words properly. So instead of writing five more paragraphs about how much I loved Remembrance, I'm just going to tell you to go read it. You will not be disappointed. And of course if you haven't read the other books in the Mediator series, go do that first.I couldn't have loved this book more. It was so great to get a peek into Suze's adult life, and I loved how all the old characters were brought back. This is a book I would absolutely recommend buying, because I for sure plan to re-read it (and I never do that)!THANK YOU, MEG CABOT. You have always been one of my favorite authors, and books like this are the reason. Thank you so much for bringing this beloved series back to life.

A bit disappointing
I've been wanting to read this since it came out, so part of me feels bad it took me so long. Another part of me is thinking... was this book really needed? After reading the short Novella set before Remembrance, I'm a little bit disappointed how little attention the actual wedding has. I feel like there was a big build up which was ultimately a let down. However, it was great to revisit favorite characters and see how some of them have changed... and some have not. Suze is still the lovable, arrogant kick-ass mediator, Paul is still Paul with the same old goals, Jesse is still wildly masculine and macho. It was great to see how Suzes stepbrothers had changed in the 6 years between the original books and this installment, and I did enjoy this story.I will however have to say that there is a trigger warning for child abuse in this book, as well as 'Suze' having a strong opinion on children's vaccines and how anyone not adhering to them are 'quacks' and 'dangerous', which resulted in a little bit of coercion ... which I didn't agree with and didn't think was needed in this book, apart from to push across maybe Meg Cabots views on something so contraversioal??Over all was an enjoyable addition.... but I still wanted a bit more from it, you know?

Worth the wait!
Wow! Thank you Meg Cabot for re visiting the mediator series. I had read the first six books and loved them. It was great reading them all again then reading Remembrance. Susannah and Jesse get more couple time in this book. All the old favourite characters are there and its nice to find out what happened to them. The adult overtones are perfectly written and fit in nicely with the story and the age that the characters are in the book without being cheesy or gross! I want more and I also want my own Jesse. Damn that woman writes a good male lead character!

Just what I’d been waiting for.
I read the mediator series dozens of times when I was growing up. To the point I literally can recite chapters. Finding out that Meg Cabot had written a follow up about their lives and relationships in their 20s was so exciting for me I can hardly put it into words. This book did not disappoint, I read it in 24 hours, it’s the perfect ending to Suze and Jesse’s story. Now how do I go about convincing a studio to make the whole series into a TV show?

Amazing
I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I saw that meg cabot had written a 7th book of the mediator series (which was my all time favourite series as a teenager and still is!) I had always hopes a d wished for another book in this series and meg cabot didnt disappoint. A lovely way to see how the characters have moved on and suze still getting up to her usual mischief. Brilliant book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you Meg Cabot.
