Good product, the parent company could have been more open to answering my questions.
This is a bit pricey, but if it does what it is supposed to, the overall cost is minimal. Of course one never knows what previous owners of these older engines have done after they began to be stored for longer periods of time, but at least going forward I'll have done my part. I've been using the aviation form of this (the company insists there are different formulations for aviation, automotive, and small engines, but who knows?) for some time and the winter weather that prohibits me from flying often is less stressful for me having the endorsement of manufacturers and the FAA as an acceptable additive. The mechanic who does my work has found no drawbacks and in some engines he's been inside (not mine fortunately) he feels this product has benefit and isn't snake oil.I tried verifying whether or not this adds ZDDP or if I should add something like one of the additives that boost newer formulated oils to the zinc levels needed to protect flat tappet cams, and the 'expert' at the company danced and danced around my direct questions as to how much, if any, it adds. He specifically asked if I already had put the STP ZDDP in and was going to add this afterwards, but never would answer if both could safely be used without boosting the levels too high, or if CamGuard contained any ZDDP or not. Very frustrating. I'm not going to steal their market by knowing what is in the stuff I dump into my oil, and I felt a bit more honesty and up-front discussion to legitimate questions as to mixing this with other additives was acceptable would have been reassuring. Just hearing their sales pitch that 'this is all you need' and not answering if ZDDP was in it or not what I expected from a top rated company.

CamGuard Oil Additive
I have been using this product for two years now. I change my car and motorcycle oils frequently. Recently, I pulled the valve cover on one of the engines to check valve clearance - it was spotlessly clean inside the engine - no sludge or varnish. One word of caution however - for motorcycles with a wet clutch, just put about a capful per oil change. Any more than that might make the clutch slip.Update: these bottles used to be 16oz. They are now 8oz. I will still buy this product, but I am not too happy about their halving the size.

Easy to do, should prevent trouble down the road
Since I retired I don't drive my truck as often. I know this works on aviation engines, no reason it shouldn't work on a truck.

GREAT PRODUCT
Car runs very smoothly. Using mostly as a preventative measure - have notice diminished vibration when idling. Not sure about claims re: increased gas mileage, but I just want to keep my engine running well and was not motivated by those claims. Great product though and I am sure it helps as the engine gets cleaner. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This is not an easy thing to do
This product has been approved for use in aircraft engines by the FAA.This is not an easy thing to do.If I can use it in my 100,000$ Jaguar,it can work for you.
