Help for worry warts!
I started this daily meditation book Jan. 1 and it's now the middle of October, so I feel comfortable reviewing at this point. I have found that the meditations are helpful and insightful. I catch myself now in the middle of worry now and can consciously examine it, and then consciously stop it. I see how I worry subconsciously, how that trickles into my conscious mind, and how the media and people in general contribute to it. I think more critically: for example I notice how headlines say "This might (unsaid: but probably won't) happen" or focus on spats between politicians with possible (but not probable) outcomes to provoke anxiety. I have made plenty of notes on the inside covers for days that particularly resonate with me, and go back and review them as necessary. I do clearly see worry as an addiction now and this is so helpful in breaking the worry habit by replacing it with more realistic thinking and living in the moment. An unexpected and most delightful bonus is how beautiful the cover art is. It is much prettier and brighter than the picture shown. I meditate on that angel with crooked wings: is she an representative of a higher power protecting the world; or is she actually me trying to 'save' the world in my codependent and maladaptive ways? Is she both or something else? Can the wings be straightened out, or do they even need to be if this is part of a higher plan? What is my part, and what is God's? Another nice part is the hardcover is sturdy and the book has held up even when it's schlepped around.I plan on finishing this year with this Worry book, place it on my shelf for a year, and then start it again the next year to review and gain hopefully deeper insight after more work on worry and anxiety. I have a Konmari attitude towards books and do not keep many so that says a lot. I recommend this book and I did not get compensated in any way for this review. ~ Shay

Love it
This book is perfect in today's society! We have enough things to worry about and than we give ourselves more to worry about! We miss out on life because we're not living! This book broadens and changes your perspective giving you knowledge and wisdom on what truly matters. In a world where society dictates what's important, this read, battles that view point, making you aware of what's important to YOU. This is a great book for not just the worriers but anyone going through a difficult situation! Will read again because the wisdom implemented is grand.

Definitely worthwhile read
I think we are all guilty of worry to some degree and this book helped me see just how pointless most of what we worry about real is. A day to day reminder of it helps me focus on things I can do to be productive.

This is a great daily reader for meditation. I was able to identify with so much because I really do worry too much. Gave me new perspectives!

This is my third meditation book by Ann Wilson Schaef.
I read my meditation books year after year, and at some point, I replace one for another. Worry Too Much took the place of a meditation book I had been reading for at least 10 years, cover held on my a rubber band. Her books are wonderful, I'm reading 3 of hers each morning, each one is different and relevant and affirming and just hits the spot. This new one hit the spot on day 3 and has stayed there. Highly recommend you try this if you are new or old to meditation.
