Q: if I order this, would I receive the old version of cinnabar with red cap in red box exactly as described? I don't want the new gold packaging.

The new version SUCKS I've been wearing the ORIGINAL Cinnabarr since 1978, this new one they try to pass off is one step away from toilet water,that one step being IN THE TOILET,,what the hell were they thinking? Why take away something so important to so many LOYAL customers,,I hate it, I paid it,I hated it,,the only thing I hate more is the 5 minutes it lasts..if you want the real original,get ready to hold onto that credit card 299.00 is one I found..one very,very,disappointed, disgruntled, really upset woman who WANTS HER SCENT BACK..DANG IT !!!!!! I think that for awhile some of the Amazon DC's still had the original Red cap while others turned their stock faster and started shipping the new formula sooner. That's why you see some back and forth. The version I purchased was the new formula, and it is nothing like the original. Yes, it's pleasant, it's Estee Lauder after all but it is Nothing Like the original!!! I've been purchasing for my wife for 35 years now and my has been using for 40+ years so I like to think we know a little bit about the original.

This is the original red cap cinnabar. I very much dislike the new bottles and fragrance of the revised Cinnabar. It is a shame that someone felt the need to change it. Cinnabar has been my signature perfume for 26 years! The instant I removed the cap on the new bottle, I knew they had skimped! Shame on Estee Lauder. As long as I can find the old bottle and original fragrance on Amazon, I will buy it here.

Yes, this is the original. Very hard to find and when you do it is extremely expensive.
