A sequel to the Boys saga.
A sequel to the Boys saga about Becky. If you enjoyed the comic series or the TV version this is worth reading. It is very graphic and definitely for adults only.

DLC in Boook Format
I was initially going to give Dear Becky 4 stars, but I realised that was only in comparison to all the other entries in The Boys universe, which are all 5-star, to my mind. However, that's not a fair comparison, and Dear Becky deserves its own rating. I really enjoyed reading it, so that has to be a 5-star rating. If the question is whether it adds anything crucial to the overall story of The Boys, then I'd have to say it doesn't particularly. It's a story that didn't really need to be written, if I'm honest. I mean, you can understand why it was, given the success of the Netflix show. It's a background story for Butcher at its heart, and also brings you up to speed with the current lives of Annie and Hughie. But it won't change your feelings or opinions of any of these characters. But that's why I think it's like Downloadable Content for your favourite console game. When you've finished a game you really enjoyed you want more of the same, so you get some DLC. It's usually just more missions in exactly the same vein. And that's what Dear Becky is.However, the point is that this is a chance to see Billy Butcher and the gang up to their old shenanigans and doing what they do best, and I'm always really happy to have that opportunity.

More of the good stuff
It felt great to hop back into the boys after all this time. The book left me wanting more, Garth Ennis satirical views on the world today are just what we need, I could have kept reading but I suppose all good books leave you feeling that way. Going into this you know its extra content patching pieces of the story together a little more than in the original run, if you go in expecting to read something brand new and completely removed from the boys you are in the wrong mind set, its the boys though so how could you not want more ?

Another great Garth Ennis story
A great continuation of the original Boys series. Now on TV with Karl urban doing the most ridiculous Cockney accent since Dick Van Dyke! Buy this book and all other Garth Ennis stuff - he's marvelous!

Bizarrely dull
Inexplicably bleak and, yeah I’ll say it, boring. Such a disappointing and unnecessary encore to such a dynamite original series.

Well finished
Poor Billy Butcher -- stuck in the violent he'll of his own head had a short period of heaven and it was snatched away from him. It's really a sad story and it comes to closure in the hands of Wee Hughie , the " everyman character " who walked with him for awhile and if he didn't understand Billy or his violence at least was his friend. Great ending. Beautiful ending.

Ennis shows his emotional depth beneath the gore
A remarkably well-written and deeply characterised tale, returning to the cynical, blood and semen - soaked world of The Boys. It explored how sometimes, love doesn't redeem, but only allows for worse evil. It shows humanity and care and true love-and how in the right circumstances, that can become darker than pure rage. Well worth a read, not for the faint of heart.
