Unnecessary accouterment.
Ironically, I now use this regularly. BUT I "threw away" the plastic connector almost immediately. It interfered with operations. Then the plastic clasp broke, and I simply tied the strap underneath the hand "padder." No worries, it was very inexpensive. No real harm, no real foul. BUT what if that clasp had broken and my Canon had hit the floor? Cheap is as cheap does.
