Are these microwave safe?

Yes, they are microwave-safe. However, depending on the solution you have in the cup, you can't let it get too hot. The cups are plastic and they will melt.

Dishwasher safe for top rack Only. However I've never done that, I've always hand washed because I need them again as soon as I dirty them.

What type of plastic is this? (Manufacturing classification)

My understanding is They are propylene plastic meaning they are resistant to heat as compared to regular plastic They will not melt at higher temperatures and are food grade as a rule.
